Where we are
HDVI has offices in Chicago, IL, Greenville, SC, and Austin, TX.  Position location is flexible and includes other regions such as Austin TX, Dallas TX, Cleveland OH, Columbus OH, Greenville SC, or Chicago IL.

What You'll Do

    • Reporting to the Head of Underwriting (CUO), you will champion profitable growth for HDVI through business development tactics with agency partners
    • Manage the recruiting and vetting of new agency partners, and develop and maintain a rapport with existing and new partners
    • Manage agency partners to profit, premium, submission, and quote metrics and boost their performance through engagement and marketing
    • Aid in the recurring training of agency partners and support them in closing sales, including visiting with prospect accounts
    • Aid in the design and development of contingent commission structures
    • Collaborate with marketing to develop and continuously refine sales strategies, training, and collateral
    • Monitor industry trends, competitors’ activities, and recommend new or enhanced insurance products to senior management
    • Provide input to the software product development team on tools that would make it easier for agents to do business with HDVI
    • Build out and manage a team of Business Development Specialists

What You Have

    • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Business Administration, or Business Management, or equivalent in a field with skills transferable to insurance
    • 7 years of experience in a Commercial Insurance related position
    • 5 years of experience in a Commercial Insurance Business Development, Sales Management, or Agency Management position, 3 of those in management
    • Expert sales and training skills
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Strong ability to network and build relationships
    • Strong office technology skills
    • Ability to travel.  Travel requirements may reduce over time as the Business Development team grows.
