Position: Business Development Representative
Reports to: Head of Sales

What The Role Is All About
The BDR is an absolutely critical component of the Haystack revenue engine. This role is often the first contact that a prospective customer has with the Haystack brand, and as everyone knows there is no second chance at a first impression. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual that is excited about a career in software sales. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, organized, and full of energy. Haystack’s sales organization is still small, so the right candidate will have unrivaled exposure to the development of a high-growth revenue driving team. 

What Your Days Will Look Like

    • Utilize any mediums necessary to get in contact with prospective customers and bring in qualified sales leads.
    • Identify, develop, and execute possible areas of growth for Haystack’s outbound strategies.
    • Work with our marketing team and Account Executives to build a strong sales pipeline. 
    • Help define and improve on prospect messaging, email cadences, and call scripts. Help build and refine prospecting processes for all aspects of Haystack’s sales org. 
    • Achieve monthly quotas & daily KPI’s.
    • Be a key component in ensuring we have clean & accurate data in our CRM to drive the strategy for our future growth.

What The Role Requires

    • Education: We believe talented employees come from all backgrounds. No formal education required. 
    • Experience: 1- 2 years of sales, business development or customer success experience in a high growth SaaS environment.
    • Experience crafting outbound strategies, measuring results and optimizing and scaling those efforts.
    • Exceptional conversational skills, regardless of context — you feel comfortable talking with pretty much anyone, anywhere, about anything. 
    • Conversational creativity. We need to find unique ways to talk about Haystack and cut through the noise! 
    • Excellent prioritization and project management skills.
    • Interest & excitement in building this role from the ground up.
    • Able to thrive in ambiguous or rapidly changing situations where you can think on your feet.
    • Strong attention to detail! Minimizing mistakes is imperative when the majority of your work is customer facing.
