Who we are

Helsing is a new type of defence and artificial intelligence company. We believe that software - and especially artificial intelligence - will shape our democracies’ future. Our purpose is to attain technology leadership so that democratic societies are free to make sovereign decisions and control their ethical standards.

Our mission is to attract Europe’s best purpose-driven tech talent and apply their capabilities to some of the most complex problems.

We are looking for people with their heart in the right place, who share our conviction that our democratic values are worth protecting, for ourselves and for future generations.

The impact you will make

All AI systems rely on solid data foundations. Consequently, Helsing systems manage large quantities of heterogeneous data: streams of sensor data, geo-temporal information, inferences produced by AI systems, ML training data, and many more. We run a variety of workloads, from simple CRUD access patterns a la OLTP, to stream processing, to geo-temporal queries, to ML training and OLAP, to logic-programming-inspired probabilistic inference.
Our systems live on edge devices and on data centers and on anything in between; as such, we are building real-time in-memory systems on the one end of the spectrum, and scale-out cloud-based storage and compute clusters on the other. We care about storage density, performance, and military-grade resilience and reliability.
We are looking for experts with proven industry, academic, or open-source expertise to help us design and implement these systems, sometimes by selecting and assembling the right off-the-shelf components, and more often by building bespoke systems from the ground up. We are looking for individual contributors as well as team leads.
