Our purpose is to attain technology leadership so that democratic societies are free to make sovereign decisions and control their ethical standards.

Our mission is to attract Europe’s best purpose-driven tech talent and apply their capabilities to some of the most complex problems.

We are looking for people with their heart in the right place, who share our conviction that our democratic values are worth protecting, for ourselves and for future generations.

The impact you will make

Maybe the more interesting question is: what impact will Helsing have on you? Our ambitions are enormous (both, on the business and on the technology side) and we are building Europe’s premier AI research and software engineering teams across disciplines such as networking, probabilistic inference, databases, information security, data systems, 3D computer graphics, and many more. You will learn from leading industry and academic experts—not in a vacuum, but while working alongside them building cutting-edge, operational software and data systems.

At Helsing you will be part of a team of top-notch AI Researchers that conceptualize and develop novel AI algorithms for our on-edge AI signal processing capabilities and distributed perception system.

You will work on

    • We offer you the opportunity to contribute and grow in many ways depending on your skillset and your personal preference. We offer a wide range of tasks that evolve around implementation and application of ML & DL algorithms, software engineering and infrastructure or hands on data collection and recording in the field. There will be many ways to contribute and push forward our internal AI research.
    • Adapt novel deep learning and machine learning approaches to our needs and apply them to internal datasets and realistic scenarios.
    • Go out in the field to create and record video and image datasets for internal research projects and work with our Research Engineers to tackle the unique AI challenges of our sector
    • Plan and stage scenarios for technology demonstrations including the operation of multiple drones, recording and processing of video and platform data
    • Help in the construction process of ML datasets covering pre-processing, standardization and annotation of image and video data.
    • Implement pipelines and tools that help us in the construction of benchmarks and accelerate our internal development.
    • Be the personal hacker for our AI Engineers

Who we are looking for

    • You are a Master Student in a technical field who is passionate about AI and looking for an opportunity to work in a team of top AI Engineers to apply state-of-the-art deep learning research.
    • You have been working on AI projects during your study or successfully participated in ML competitions.
    • Someone who wants to see and learn how AI research ideas are applied to realistic scenarios and moved into real-world applications.
    • Someone who is passionate about keeping up to date with current AI research and who has fun implementing and extending papers on state-of-the-art Deep Learning and Machine Learning-based approaches.
    • Good software engineering skills, writing clean and well-structured code, especially in Python
    • You have a background or experience in ML applied to Robotics and Drone photography
    • Someone who can work in a self-organized way and values a collaborative and supportive environment.

Desired Skills
