Working under the Program Manager, the Provider Payments Specialist will review and validate information on monthly attendance sheets to calculate provider reimbursement for all CalWORKs and Subsidy Programs following federal and state regulations.
This is a temporary position (3 month term), with the opportunity to apply for a full-time role if available.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Apply a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations relating to child care provider reimbursement
- Verify related documents for completeness and compliance with government regulations and Agency policy
- Process monthly attendance sheets to accurately calculate child care provider reimbursement
- Troubleshoots issues to ensure provider reimbursement are completed and meet all timelines
- Attend all department and agency-wide staff meetings and trainings
- Other duties as assigned
What You Should Bring:
- Two years or more completed of college courses in accounting, business, or related field
- Proficiency in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing required
- Ability to use 10-key by touch
- Demonstrated analytical and general math abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated organizational skills with experience in prioritizing tasks
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- College degree in accounting, business, or related field
- Experience in child care subsidy programs
$24 - $27 an hour
