The Opportunity
This role will offer exciting ways for professional growth and development. Projects and daily tasks will require creativity, problem-solving, self-drive and a strong commitment to serve families and find them where they are. In this role, you will be coming up with creative solutions to different types of outreach and marketing challenges, and will be focused on bringing to life a new exciting product. 

The Senior Coordinator, Community Engagement will report to the VP, Communications and Development, and collaborate closely with our CEO.

What you will do:

    • Lead our external outreach efforts through community events 
    • Bring an exciting idea from concept to execution. From an image to reality
    • With energy, creativity and a strong commitment to our mission you’ll represent Hively in events hosted by our partners
    • Will coordinate and manage volunteers to support targeted outreach efforts
    • You’ll be a bridge between our Marketing/Communications/Development team and the rest of the organization to the communities we serve
    • Work cross functionally with teams to organize donations and supplies needed for our external outreach events
    • Organize and attend events throughout Alameda County regularly
    • Input contacts, metrics, event details in our internal systems for accountability
    • Prepare reports including metrics that can help Hively measure the impact of these outreach efforts
    • Support content creation and digital marketing efforts as needed
    • Lead small project teams, provide direction, and keep stakeholders informed
    • Determine key milestones and provide updates and check-ins to relevant teams and partners
    • Share stories about our work through social media channels
    • You’ll be connecting with stakeholders and fully embedded in Alameda County, especially the Tri-valley and Fremont, Union City and Newark areas

What you should bring:

    • Bachelor degree or relevant experience, preferably in Marketing and/or Communications or a related field
    • 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, sales, and/or community outreach
    • Entrepreneurial spirit. You’ll be starting from scratch, taking an idea from concept to fruition. You enjoy ambiguity, you like figuring things out, and are skilled in creation and translation of thought to action
    • Self-driven and self-sufficient individual contributor who can solve problems and ask for help or collaborate when needed
    • Lots of energy, comfortable speaking in public and making connections at events and other external settings
    • An outstanding capacity to build relationships
    • Willing to experiment, try new ideas out to connect and engage with different audiences
    • Experience working with underserved and underrepresented communities
    • A clear understanding of Alameda County, its diversity and connections in the communities we serve
    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, and comfortable with driving and navigating to events throughout the County
    • Physical stamina and good upper body strength to lift packages and objects (at least 20 pounds), as well as be able to load and unload them from a vehicle
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish

$65,000 - $75,000 a year
Salary ranges are based on industry data, and final employment offer will be determined based upon factors including but not limited to an applicant's experience, specialized skills, and internal alignment.
