The Opportunity
This role is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organization dedicated to increasing access to mental health, as well as training and developing the next generation of therapists. In the past year, Hively has opened new medi-cal certified mental health centers in Oakland and Pleasanton, where we also offer our other wrap-around family services.

The Clinical Associate (AMFT or APCC) provides individual, family and couples’ counseling for primarily medi-cal clients and some fee clients. This position would also work with Alameda County performing GA evaluations around 2 days per week. This role includes completing assessments, problem lists and treatment plans, including diagnosis with a supervisor. They may also perform other related tasks that are a part of the agency's operation. Work is supervised by professional staff, and clinical work is supervised by a licensed clinician and attends individual and group supervision weekly. All employees at Hively are required to have Criminal Justice clearance.

What you will do:

    • Provide direct service psychotherapy to caseload (both telehealth and in-person)
    • Maintain an active and consistent caseload as determined by the Director of Clinical Services 
    • Administer GA Evaluations (about 2 days per week) through Alameda County
    • Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans
    • Implement and monitor protocols for clinical services delivery
    • Maintain up-to-date clinical documentation as required
    • Provide referrals and community resources when needed
    • Consult with supervisors and staff as needed/required 
    • Attend supervision on a weekly basis and in a prompt manner
    • Interact with staff and clients in a professional and ethical manner
    • Participate in supervision and training with an openness to learning and receiving feedback
    • Performs additional job-related duties and responsibilities as requested

What you should bring:

    • Master's Degree completed from an accredited college or university in related field
    • At least one year of experience as a Clinical Associate post graduation
    • Knowledge and basic skills in counseling practices and methods
    • Ability to plan, implement, evaluate and report activities conducted
    • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and to prepare written and electronic documents
    • Ability to communicate orally, both in person and by telephone
    • Ability to travel to meetings, other campuses and counseling sites
    • Ability to establish rapport with others as a requisite for healthy and therapeutic relationships
    • Ability to be both consistent and flexible as circumstances warrant
    • Ability to remain calm and supportive in psychological emergencies and/or crises when provided with appropriate supervision and direction
    • Self-awareness in order to relate to others effectively and appropriately
    • Must meet eligibility requirements to bill for Medi-Cal services

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Bilingual in English and Spanish
$31.25 - $32.50 an hour
Salary ranges are based on industry data, and final employment offer will be determined based upon factors including but not limited to an applicant's experience, specialized skills, and internal alignment.
