Job Overview
We are seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to support our Hardware and Production team. This is a 3-6 month contract role. This role is hands-on and critical to our test infrastructure, prototyping, and hardware development. The ideal candidate is self-driven, collaborative, and adaptable within a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of automated test rigs
- Lab management and organization
- Assist in upgrading rigs to improve accuracy and performance
- Prepare, analyze, and present test results to demonstrate performance metrics
- Support prototyping of hardware, including electro-mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and test development
Required Qualifications
- Experience with machining tools (mill, lathe, CNC)
- Proficiency in 3D CAD/CAMCircuit debugging skills (using multimeters, oscilloscopes)
- Proficiency in soldering, splicing, and crimping
- Ability to read datasheets and select appropriate parts
- Familiarity with PCB schematics and layout reading
- Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication abilities
- Commitment to quality and deadlines
- Flexibility to assist beyond core job duties
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points)
- Programming knowledge (Python, C, or scripting languages)
- Interest in firmware development and debugging
- Experience in circuit design and microcontroller prototyping (MCU/Arduino)
- Access to or experience with machine shop equipment
- Experience with 3D printing, laser cutting, and PCB layout
