Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough legal reviews and provide strategic advice on commercial contracts, terms and conditions, special projects, and other commercial matters encountered by the company and internal stakeholders.

2. Assess and mitigate contractual risks by implementing robust measures and best practices.

3. Collaborate closely with business teams to ensure regulatory compliance, obtain necessary licenses, and navigate legal complexities across various jurisdictions.

4. Act as a trusted legal advisor to internal stakeholders, providing practical, commercially sound, and accurate guidance throughout the life cycle of legal matters.

5. Support the business teams in their growth initiatives, ensuring legal risks are appropriately managed and opportunities are maximized.

6. Manage corporate secretarial matters, including the administration of group companies and directors.

7. Develop and deliver legal training programs to enhance legal awareness and promote effective risk management practices throughout the organization.

8. Stay abreast of legal developments, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to provide proactive and informed counsel.

9. Collaborate with external legal counsel and other professional service providers as needed.

Requirements:

1. JD or LLM from a reputable law school and qualified in a common law jurisdiction.

2. Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience preferably in fintech or financial services industry, with experience in commercial contracts, M&A, partnerships, regulatory compliance, and licensing matters.

3. Excellent legal drafting, research, and analytical skills with a strong business acumen.

4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

5. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a talent for finding practical and commercially viable solutions.

7. Excellent command of written and spoken English, and fluency in Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin or both).
