Kevala is looking for a Principal, Cyber Security and Data Privacy. The individual will work in the Products and Strategy department and will be responsible for working with company leadership and internal and external stakeholders to define Kevala’s strategy in the areas of cyber security and data privacy.  If you enjoy collaborating with other professionals who believe in accelerating a sustainable clean energy future by making electric and environmental data meaningful, transparent, and broadly accessible, we encourage you to apply. 

What you will be doing

    • Working with the Kevala leadership team to set the strategic roadmap and priorities for Kevala as they relate to cyber security and data privacy.
    • Collaborate with Leadership and peers to coordinate with other pillars of the strategic roadmap related to utilities and regulators, independent power producers, carbon, financial markets and mobility.
    • Identify the strategy to increase the maturity of customer offerings in cyber security and data privacy, including collaboration with partners (including research institutes and National Labs) and customers.
    • Support the mapping of markets, use cases and customers for the cyber security and data privacy pillar and champion the communication and refinement of this with both external and internal audiences and stakeholders.
    • Work collaboratively with different departments within Kevala to consider strategic goals for certification and training as it pertains to cyber security and data privacy in the operations and working practices of the company. 
    • Act as an internal consultant to products, projects and consultancy (advisory and professional services).
    • Work on customer and partner projects related to cyber security and data privacy in a leadership capacity.  

What you need to succeed

    • Interdisciplinary working knowledge of cyber security, data privacy, power systems, distributed energy resources and data communications.
    • Strategic insight into future market developments related to all aspects of Kevala’s business and how cyber security and data privacy will play a cross-cutting role in the delivery of the company’s strategy.
    • The ability to leverage networks across vendors, utilities, regulators, standards bodies, Government and National Labs.
    • Superb analytical and planning capabilities, combined with excellent communication and presentation skills. 

What will make you stand out

    • Demonstrable expertise and experience representing the concepts and issues related to the impact of cyber security and data privacy across the electricity supply chain.
    • Experience of start-up software company culture and an appreciation and/or experience of change management in large institutions and the electricity sector.

Salary Range
The compensation for this role will be determined by experience and location.
