The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will act as a scientific expert and offer medical support to KOLs.  The MSL will assist in building the foundation and capabilities of the medical affairs organization.  In addition, the MSL will provide clinical/medical information to healthcare communities and serve as a scientific and clinical resource internally.  The ideal candidate will contribute to our goals of navigating what’s next in synthetic biology, immunology and cell engineering while living our core values: bring intellectual humility, elevate each other, and stay true to why.  

Responsibilities

    • Medical advocate for Kyverna by utilizing disease state knowledge, detailed understanding of investigational cellular therapy product(s) to engage healthcare providers.
    • Identify, build and manage successful relationships with clinical investigators, KOL’s, academic center(s) research staff and others in the medical/scientific community.
    • Serve as a scientific and clinical resource across the organization.
    • Actively participate in the creation and development of a targeted, strategic accounts list to ensure access and facilitate relationships.
    • Prioritize solutions to challenging scenarios and develop mitigation strategies to support the needs of the team.
    • Develop educational materials for Medical Affairs, including slides and information letters.
    • Represent Kyverna at conferences, presentations to industry and investment groups.
    • Become an expert in government and industry guidelines, regulations, and laws for appropriate scientific/medical communication.
    • Provide detailed, clear and regular communication to deliver complex medical/scientific information effectively to HCPs.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

    • Advanced science degree required (PhD, PharmD, MD, RN, NP, PA or equivalent)
    • Must have prior cell therapy experience.
    • 5+ years as a MSL with cell therapy launch experience strongly preferred.
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated skill in managing multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal guidance and oversight.
    • Ability to deliver scientific and clinical presentations to a variety of audiences.
    • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and present complex and/or new ideas with clarity and simplicity.
    • Can independently manage projects and work well with cross-functional team members to achieve corporate and department objectives.
    • Demonstrated positive, collaborative relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to work well under pressure given time constraints.
    • Ability to proactively identify issues and have a solutions-oriented approach.
    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and make independent decisions.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, as well as the proven track record of working effectively in diverse teams involving multi-functional disciplines.
    • Proven ability to develop internal relationships in a highly matrixed environment, as well as external relationships with KOL’s and industry experts.
    • Must be able and have flexibility to travel all over the US for medical congress coverage, exhibit booth staffing as well as support team with clinical site visits depending on business needs.
    • Ability to maintain current licensure and obtain appropriate vaccination(s) and certifications to allow access to customer site visits, conference attendance and international travel requirements, if required.
$150,000 - $183,000 a year
The salary range for this position is from $150,000 - $183,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this posted position, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation individual education, experience, tenure, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  This position is also eligible for bonus, benefits, and participation in Company’s stock option plan.
