Kyverna is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join our team developing novel and innovative engineered T cell-based therapies for autoimmune diseases. Responsibilities

    • The successful candidate will join the Process Development – Cell Therapy Group and contribute to the development of genetically modified T cell manufacturing processes.
    • Candidate will be responsible for execution and support of process development (PD) experiments to define, characterize, and improve autologous and allogeneic cell therapy processes.
    • Candidate will independently perform experiments and basic assays, as well as analyze/prepare resulting data.
    • Role will focus on improving cell product quality, safety, and consistency, with a special focus on manufacturability.
    • Candidate will assist in transferring successful processes to clinical manufacturing sites, including authoring protocols and standard operating procedure documents, and serving as a subject matter expert (SME) for processes developed in-house.

Requirements

    • B.S. or M.S degree or equivalent experience in biochemical engineering, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of relevant laboratory experience, including experience with cell culture and aseptic technique. Experience with human primary cells highly desirable. Basic knowledge of immunology and T cell function is required.
    • Experience in development of cell therapy is preferred, including a working knowledge of cell isolation, gene editing, and formulation/cryopreservation methods. · Experience with flow cytometry is a plus.
    • Proficient in experimental design and ability to independently execute research protocols and experiments.
    • Excellent technical writing skills with prior experience authoring protocols Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Experience in a GMP setting is preferred but not required.
    • Excellent organizational skills, meticulous record-keeping, and keen attention to detail.
    • Enjoys working as a team with effective communication and people skills.
    • Enjoys brainstorming, troubleshooting, and developing creative solutions to near-constant challenges associated with early-stage process development.
    • Position may require occasional travel.
$105,000 - $130,000 a year
The base salary range for candidates residing in California for this position is  $105,0000 - USD to $130,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this posted position, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation individual education, relevant experience, tenure, skills and abilities, geographic location, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.   This position is also eligible for bonus, benefits, and participation in Company’s stock option plan.
