Kyverna is seeking a high motivated Medical Science Liaison (MSL) who will engage scientifically with health care providers and medical and scientific experts to support the Medical and Clinical Teams’ strategic priorities and plans. The MSL must have deep clinical/medical expertise to serve as a resource to our external experts and internal teams. The ideal candidate will contribute to our goals of navigating what’s next in synthetic biology, immunology and cell engineering while living our core values: bring intellectual humility, elevate each other, and stay true to why.   

Responsibilities

    • Be a medical advocate for Kyverna by utilizing disease state knowledge, detailed understanding of investigational cellular therapy product(s) to engage healthcare providers  
    • Identify, build and maintain successful relationships with clinical investigators, KOLs, and academic centers’ research personnel 
    • Serve as a scientific and clinical resource for our products across the organization 
    • Build, facilitate, and develop relationships with the medical/scientific community 
    • Actively participate in the creation and development of a targeted, strategic accounts list in order to ensure access and develop relationships 
    • Effectively communicate relevant field insights back to strategy and clinical teams. 
    • Facilitate and support new and ongoing partnerships with project management and milestone tracking, including clinical trials and other collaborations 
    • Prioritize solutions to challenging scenarios and develop mitigation strategies to support the needs of the healthcare team 
    • Support Medical Affairs efforts to develop educational materials including slides and information letters, events and conference symposia 
    • Help represent Kyverna at conferences and industry events 
    • Provide detailed, clear and regular communication and have the ability to deliver complex medical/scientific information effectively to HCPs 
    • This role is field based with the expectation that the MSL will be customer facing (face-to-face and virtual) for the majority of the time (up to 70%-80%) 
    • The role will be focused on European conferences and customer engagements across key centers in Europe, with a special focus on Germany.  

Requirements

    • Advanced science degree required (PhD, PharmD, MD or equivalent) 
    • 5+ years as a MSL with prior experience (and ideally an established network)preferably in rheumatologic or neuroimmunology autoimmune disease, or in cellular therapy 
    • A good understanding of structures and processes in academic medical institutions and the broader healthcare system. 
    • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English and ideally, German. Additional major EU languages are a plus. 
    • Possess a strong understanding of government and industry guidelines, regulations, and laws relevant to facilitating appropriate scientific/medical exchange and communication, for example FSA Codex and HWG, and ideally across multiple European markets. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and present complex and/or new ideas with clarity and simplicity to many types of audiences 
    • Proven ability to build external relationships with KOLs and industry experts 
    • Self starter, with demonstrated skill in independently managing multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal guidance and oversight 
    • Strong team player who can work well with cross-functional team members to achieve corporate and department objectives and is willing to go beyond job descriptions where needed to achieve goals. 
    • Ability to proactively identify issues and have a solutions-oriented approach and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 
    • Must be able and have flexibility to travel all over Germany, and occasionally Europe, for customer meetings, and clinical site visits depending on business needs, sometimes at short notice. Willingness to represent the company at conferences across Europe.

    • Ability to maintain current licensure and obtain appropriate vaccination(s) and certifications to allow access to customer site visits, conference attendance and international travel requirements, if required

The salary range for this position is from 95,000 - 130,000 EU annually. This salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this posted position, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation individual education, experience, tenure, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
