Kyverna is recruiting an Executive Director, Investor Relations (IR), in its Corporate Affairs and IR Team, reporting to the Senior Vice President, CA, Communications and IRto lead our investor relations efforts. This role is critical to the business and responsible for building and owning strong relationships with institutional investors, analysts, and key financial stakeholders while ensuring transparent and effective communication takes place regarding the Company’s pipeline progress, market positioning and financial outlook.  The ideal candidate will contribute to our goals of delivering the first autoimmune CAR T therapy to the market while living our core values: bring intellectual humility, elevate each other, and stay true to why
 
Title: Executive Director, Investor Relations
Reports to: SVP, Corporate Affairs, Communications and Investor Relations
Location: Emeryville, CA (Hybrid – twice a week) 

Responsibilities:

    • The Executive Director, Investor Relations (IR), will serve as the primary liaison between investors, analysts, and company leadership, effectively communicating our company strategy, clinical pipeline progress, and financial outlook. Key responsibilities include:
    • Develop and drive an investor relations strategy and tactical IR roadmap aligned with the company’s goals and objectives; establishes the optimal type and mix of shareholders and creates that mix through a variety of targeting initiatives.  
    • Serve as a liaison between the Kyverna leadership team and the investor/analyst community to foster investor confidence and belief in the company's vision and strategy for delivering shareholder value.
    • Cultivate and own long-term relationships with industry analysts and investors, while managing day-to-interactions to drive a consistent and compelling message about the company’s strategy and key operational activities.
    • Own and manage all investor communications including: investor presentations, select press releases, relevant earnings materials, and associated SEC filings to meet disclosure obligations and to ensure accurate and compelling communication.
    • Manage and update company equity story and messaging to support the corporate narrative, in addition to managing a master Q&A document.
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, analyst activity and investor sentiment; provide relevant strategic insights and updates to leadership.  Also provide feedback to leadership regarding the investment community’s perception of the company and associated activities, messages, etc.  
    • Prepare senior leaders for meetings with the investment community and provide feedback/post event analysis. 
    • Evaluate and organize investor meetings, biotech conferences, and roadshows to drive strategic engagement.
    • Maintain investor CRM tool to consistently track external interactions.  
    • Manage the IR portion of the Kyverna Web site.   
    • Collaborate across the organization, in particular with R&D, Regulatory and Finance teams to translate scientific and clinical developments into clear investor messaging.
    • Work closely with the Corporate Communications team to align messaging across scientific, regulatory, media, and investor audiences.
    • Ensure compliance with financial and regulatory reporting requirements, including SEC, FDA, and other industry-specific regulations.

Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field.
    • 15+ years of experience in investor relations, finance, or a related role (preferably in a biotech, pharma, or life sciences company).
    • Strong understanding of the healthcare sector including biotech financial models, clinical trial phases, FDA/EMA regulatory processes, and market dynamics.
    • Experience in public company IR and capital markets.
    • Knowledge of SEC disclosure and filing requirements.  
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific data into investor-friendly language.
    • Strong analytical skills for assessing investor sentiment, market trends, and financial performance.
    • Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively and credibly with senior leadership.  
    • Strong personal network of investment community relationships.
    • Strong collaborator; works effectively in teams.
    • Comfortable operating and driving results in a dynamic and highly innovative environment.
    • Detail-oriented, well-organized self-starter; experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously; flexibility and results-oriented focus are essential.

    • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in public offerings, fundraising, or M&A.
    • CFA, CPA, or CIRO (Certified Investor Relations Officer) is a plus.

The base salary range for candidates residing in the Northern California Area for this position is $250K to $290K annually. This salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this posted position, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors that may include but are not limited to quality and length of experience, education, geographic location and alignment with market data.
