Luma’s mission is to build multimodal AI to expand human imagination and capabilities.
We believe that multimodality is critical for intelligence. To go beyond language models and build more aware, capable and useful systems, the next step function change will come from vision. So, we are working on training and scaling up multimodal foundation models for systems that can see and understand, show and explain, and eventually interact with our world to effect change.
Luma is a group of very strong and action-biased engineers and researchers. We are looking for a head of engineering who can help us scale this incredible team to deliver on our ambitious mission. A mix of deep technical expertise, strong recruiting skills, and experience managing high performing teams.
What’s expected
- Previous experience building and scaling engineering function in high growth tech startup
- Deep understanding of infra, performance, and reliability at scale and hands-on problem solving
- Experience as an IC in or leading an ML team is a strong plus
- Strong recruiting skills and engineering network
- Proven track record of successfully managing high performance teams

$180,000 - $250,000 a year
The pay range for this position is for Bay Area. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience.
