The VP, FP&A leads the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical activities crucial to strategic decision-making and operational excellence. In close collaboration with executive leadership, this role provides insightful financial analysis, builds sophisticated financial models, and delivers clear, data-driven recommendations that propel business growth. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic SaaS environment, demonstrating exceptional analytical proficiency, strategic thinking, and the ability to proactively enhance financial performance and drive operational efficiencies.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Operate as a senior leader in a growing SaaS company, collaborating across Product, Sales, Marketing, Services, and Development to deliver aligned financial forecasts. Manage a team of financial professionals to support the business’s analytics needs.
Create and manage sophisticated, dynamic financial models, including comprehensive 3-statement projections, to guide strategic planning and decision-making.
Oversees annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes, delivering insightful variance analyses and strategic recommendations.
Develop accurate, impactful financial presentations for the Board of Directors and investors, aligned with corporate strategies.
Produce detailed monthly financial performance reports and trend analyses, identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvements and automation.
Evaluate and recommend reporting and data analysis that would provide additional transparency for decision making.
Execute special projects and respond to ad-hoc financial inquiries, including cash flow forecasts, profitability assessments, and operational performance evaluations.
Utilize data analytics, financial modeling, and strategic metrics to translate business challenges into actionable financial insights and solutions.
Proactively identify and drive opportunities for FP&A system enhancements, process automation, and operational efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility:
Set clear expectations, offer direction, and ensure alignment with organizational goals while fostering a supportive environment that encourages collaboration, accountability, and growth.
Coach, mentor, and provide training opportunities to build team members’ skills, promote internal growth, and prepare staff for future roles and responsibilities.
Manage hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, promotions, compensation, and terminations, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
Assess team performance regularly, address gaps, and ensure duties are completed efficiently and effectively in alignment with department and organizational objectives.

Position Specifications

Education: 
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; CPA and MBA preferred.

Experience:
15 years of progressive FP&A experience required with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.
Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and data-driven analytics within a SaaS or technology environment preferred.
Experience working with start-ups and venture backed companies. Experience raising venture capital.
Experience working across the C-Suite, in the board room and with investors.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Expert-level Excel and Google Sheets  proficiency for creating robust, dynamic financial models.
Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex financial data into actionable business insights.
Proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate effectively with senior leadership.
Strategic thinker and solution oriented with a roll-up your sleeves mentality.
Familiarity with financial analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) preferred.
SaaS or FinTech industry experience is beneficial.

Travel: 
Minimal, generally 12 days or less per year, ~2X team get togethers a year
