The MBRDNA Powertrain Software Coordination (SWC) Team is looking to add a Senior Engineer with excellent experience and knowledge in the After-Sales project landscape.
The SWC Team is responsible for the successful introduction of Powertrain Software into Production and Aftersales. Our scope is far reaching and includes projects within the Mercedes-Benz Cars and Mercedes-AMG divisions. From a technology standpoint we are involved with conventional, electrified and Hybrid powertrains. We work collaboratively with teams located throughout the world to ensure software availability and alignment with regulatory requirements. Your day-to-day activities will include:
• Function as the AMG M17x After-Sales Powertrain Software Release Manager (PT-EE), which includes the support of testing and validation activities.
• Function as the AMG M17x After-Sales Project Manager, which includes providing guidance to project participants and being the interface between MBRDNA, MB Germany and AMG.
• Creating timelines to plan, coordinate, maintain and support the AMG M17x After-Sales software/dataset rollout with the focus of identifying critical deadlines.
• Support with doorman / “Tuersteher” activities.
• Identify software and dataset change content with the respective PF-Team(s), BTVs, responsible Engineers (V6s), certification and management.

Job Responsibilities:
- 1. AMG M17x Aftersales Powertrain Software Release Manager (PT-EE) & Project Manager
- a) Gathering, confirming and providing powertrain software package(s) for neutrality testing as well as over-the-road validation.
- Aligning with certification and BTVs on required software package information for testing.
- Discussing software package inconsistencies - certification vs. Quicktest information.
- Conduct Variant Coding comparisons with Encore and/or Codeman as well as following-up with V6s on differences.
- b) Project timeline(s)
- Creating detailed software/dataset release rollout timelines per car line and market.
- Monitoring of progress and maintenance of timeline with the focus of meeting critical deadlines.
- Communicating changes in timeline to relevant stakeholders.
- c) Project reporting and documentation.
- Presentation of release progress and project status to top management within MB.
- Maintaining a detailed documentation of project activities including tracking task completion.
- 2. PF-Team /After-Sales Team Interface
- a) Alignment with PF-Team and After-Sales Team on relevant topics.
- b) Coordination between PF-Team(s), BTVs, responsible Engineers (V6s), certification and management to ensure After-Sales topics are getting processed in a timely manner as well as according to MB internal processes.
- 3. Support with doorman / “Tuersteher” activities.
- a) Conduct software and dataset comparisons with INCA and Creta to specify change content and change descriptions. b) Coordinate the creation of certification documentation updates (OBD, AES/BES, AECD).
- c) Create doorman / “Tuersteher” requests in SBM.
- 4. Initiate process improvement to enhance software/dataset rollout output.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master's degree in engineering or business administration
- 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills in leading projects and working with local and external teams from Daimler RD and suppliers.
- Strong project management skills including scheduling, defining critical paths, analyzing trade-offs, and creating recovery plans.
- Facilitate problem solving and lessons learned sessions.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to monitor cost and strive for the best value.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- A proven ability to handle complexity.
- Experience with project management tools including Gantt Charts, Project Tracking, etc.
- Valid Driver License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- German language skills both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of powertrain calibration tools such as INCA, Creta, Encore and Codeman.
