As part of our dynamic team of Human-Centered Design practitioners, you will strategize innovative service delivery and design solutions using SaaS and PaaS products. Your work will directly impact one of the largest agencies that also supports over 18 million veterans.

Successful candidates will have a track-record of managing stakeholder groups, driving alignment, navigating blockers, and leading high-performing human-centered design teams through discovery stages of PaaS and/or Saas configuration projects. The willingness to tackle ambiguity and dive in to build new systems and processes, sometimes from scratch, is essential alongside leading through influence within a matrixed environment. Previous experience working in a client services organization (i.e., consulting or a digital agency) is helpful but not required, as is interest in working with the government.
What You'll Do:
- You will be responsible for the long-term strategy and success of one or more products and teams
- You will use product thinking to define how teams and clients go about solving a problem and achieving a shared product direction and strategy,
- You will collaborate with clients to develop longer term strategies that focus on the highest value outcomes for the program, given goals, needs, and constraints
- You will be responsible for shaping the longer term product vision and strategy, managing and directing multi-disciplinary product teams to deliver iteratively and incrementally against a prioritized roadmap, and coaching and leading other PMs
- You will lead client delivery for a specified contract/program focused on one or more products to deliver / achieve key outcomes and effectively interfacing with clients, partners, team members, and other key stakeholders
- You will coach clients and teams on the MO product approach and best practices based on your unique expertise
- You will lead workshops and trainings across multiple teams on a program to guide product, client, and program success towards long-term direction
- You will serve as point of continuity between other cross-functional product teams and program leaders on a contract
- You will contribute to business development by proposing solutions to new and existing problems and articulating the value of the work you are driving.
- You will run efficient scrum ceremonies.
- Over time you will develop deep domain experience at VA and support the Head of Product in developing processes that relate to business operations and growth
- Over time you will grow into broader / more strategic roles, including the potential to coach/lead other PMs engaged in client work at VA and participate in proposals for new bids.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with the application of the USWDS and VA’s instance of the USWDS on VA.gov highly preferred.
- 6+ years of industry experience in software development and product management
- An experienced product professional that has led product delivery for one or more digital products at scale
- Experience managing projects with numerous stakeholders, preferably with PaaS and SaaS product experience
- A seasoned problem-solver with strong product sense, a consulting mindset, technical expertise, and client management skills
- An energetic product advocate that strives to be a subject matter expert and has led a product from from inception to delivery, either at the product or feature level
- Consulting or digital agency background, and or has deep experience co-designing solutions with clients and external stakeholders
- Strong communicator and effective facilitator - understands how to communicate complexity for a variety of audiences; effectively builds consensus and guides decision-making in a multi stakeholder environment
- Interest in business development/entrepreneurial spirit
- Strong understanding of modern product development practices and cross functional workflows
- Experience working within cross-functional (e.g, multidisciplinary) teams and enabling related workflows, including design thinking, HCD, and DevSecOps
- Experience leading or mentoring other product managers
$120,000 - $140,000 a year
The salary range for this role is: $120,000 - $140,000.
Salary: Due to our work with government clients, our salary ranges are fixed within certain budget limits. Please make sure your salary expectations match the specified range provided below. While we offer competitive salaries, there's a minimum amount we won't go below for hiring, and the top end of the range is the maximum compensation we can offer for this position.
