Machina Labs, founded in 2019 by aerospace and auto industry veterans, is a smart manufacturing company based in Los Angeles, California. Enabled by advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics, Machina Labs is developing software-defined factories of the future. The mission of the company is to develop modular manufacturing solutions that can be reconfigured to manufacture new products simply by changing the software. The company is currently working to build the first commercial robotic sheet metal forming machine. Machina Labs is funded and backed by major investors in the field of AI and Deep Tech.

The Program Manager will report directly to the Head of Applications & Partnerships at Machina Labs.  The successful candidate will work closely with the executive team at the company and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Machina Labs’ robotic systems at different customer sites and their successful utilization (i.e., the program).  The Program Manager will be responsible for the overall health and success of the program, ensuring customer requirements are met and each individual project is within budget and delivered on time. This is a key, senior role that will participate in the development of Machina Labs’ overall product strategy and support company’s future product offerings.

Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide direction, leadership, and accountability for project management efforts across the enterprise as it relates to previously referenced program  
    • Ensure timely and successful program execution while maintaining partnerships with external and internal stakeholders (including Machina Labs’ Engineering, Production, and Product teams) 
    • Utilize your deep knowledge of project management techniques during all phases of the projects and handle responsibilities including scope management, cost control, schedule management, and status reporting  
    • Define and enforce new project management processes to ensure successful project deliveries  
    • Identify program risks and develop mitigation plans toensure successful project deliveries 
    • Develop and deliver presentations and reports to executive management, internal teams, and external stakeholders   

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering (Mechanical, Materials Science, Robotics, or other related fields)  
    • Strong knowledge of program management principles, skills, and tools to manage and align project portfolio 
    • Experience working closely with aero-def contractors and US Government customers 
    • Minimum 5 years of experience managing programs involving delivery and deployment of (new) manufacturing platforms and systems  
    • Experience in end-to-end manufacturing of metallic components and systems is a plus 
    • Experience in maintenance, repair, overhaul, and sustainment environments is a plus 
    • Experience with Cost Plus, Fixed Price and T&M contracts  
    • Strong software skills with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project) 
    • Ability to travel as required
