We’re looking for a Design Manager who’s passionate about making a positive difference in the world by working collaboratively and consciously on a real-world problem solving focused Startup, by building a scalable and predictable world-class team.
Our current Design Team is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. We work on all Product, Visual and Motion initiatives across the company, and count with 6 great designers (so far). We work on a daily basis with our folks from Canada and the US.
This is a full-time, remote position for people based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

What you'll do

    • Establish and implement processes and measures that support scalable solutions for design challenges, so that designers can focus on designing and researching.
    • Help cultivate the design culture within the team and along the company by including user-centric design thinking across all our initiatives and maintaining a collaborative design process.
    • Work in all initiatives that involve design, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team that includes not only Design but also Product, Engineering, Growth, Marketing, Content and Sales teams, where you will find yourself ideating and discussing initiatives, running ideation sessions, scoping projects and help define roadmap with project founders and company leads.
    • Determine tools for design team to work efficiently: You’ll standardize the tooling and systems used, as well as introduce new tools and make sure designers adopt them.
    • Manage and grow designers: you’ll be in charge of the hiring process, mentoring all levels of designers to deliver their best work, ensure accountability of team work, guarantee designers welfare by working on team activities, career paths, performance reviews, etc.
    • Help setting the foundations for customer research by incorporating people, resources and processes that help us determine the best approaches and methods to follow, in order to capture the insights we need.

What we're looking for

    • You have proven experience as team lead/manager, +2 years on a similar position, and you’re passionate about developing designers’ skills and careers.
    • You are based in Buenos Aires city.
    • You have an excellent English level for speaking and communicate effectively your ideas to the team and company leads, and you are a people person, you like to present your ideas and connect with others to achieve common goals.
    • You can organize work, plan and present weekly, monthly, quarterly goals for the team, that are aligned with other team leads and work areas, based on company and business goals.
    • You have a proven track record of designing successful products that users love. You have a background as a Visual - UX/UI - Product designer.
    • You are a Figma Master and have a deep and updated knowledge on design tools and engineering best practices.
    • You have experience with data-driven decision-making, but also have an ability to manage ambiguity with strong, well-reasoned, but loosely held hypotheses when data is not available.
    • You have empathy for customer needs but can also consider technical constraints and business goals. You’re passionate about inclusive design and accessibility.

We’re looking for an empathetic Design Manager, to help us build our design foundations, grow our team, and manage our team operations. This is a very hands-on role with management responsibilities. The position will evolve as the team grows.
This is a role for a creative and people-oriented individual with strategic judgment and willingness to collaborate within a team environment. You’ll help not only lead the MaintainX team but inspire and elevate designers and stakeholders by bringing professionalism, predictability and scalability to our current projects and initiatives.
As Team Manager, you will be in charge of the orchestration and optimization of people, processes, and craft in order to amplify design’s value and impact at scale.
You’ll have an opinion about the right direction to go, the flexibility to change course when needed, and the communication skills to provide clarity to the rest of the team.
