As Senior Product Designer, you will be a key contributor to the growth, innovation, and continued improvement of Medal. You have multi-faceted experiences in Product, UX research, UX/Experience Design, Visual Interface Design, and Data Analytics across the web and native mobile platforms.
What you'll be doing:
- Designing for experience: Working side-by-side with Product and Engineering to design new products and iterate on existing products that improve user experiences.
- Designing for brand: Create designs that are beautiful, consistent, and contribute to the brand.
- Using the product: Heavily using Medal’s Recorder, Editor and Social features on desktop and Mobile
- UX Interviews: Communicating with Medal’s users to intimately understand and translate their wants and needs into meaningful products and experiences
- Prototyping: Building and testing prototypes early and often to validate and communicate ideas and gain new insights along the way, translating winning prototypes and validated ideas into successful designs
- Data Analysis: Understanding product and business objectives and using data to iterate and inform the design and product decisions
- Roadmapping: Contribute to and help shape the product roadmap, both short term, and long-term
What we're looking for:
- Depth of XP: 6+ years of Design and UX experience within high traffic digital consumer products (100,000+ visitors per day), preferably in gaming, video, search/discovery or social
- Type of XP: Experience working on UX for feature dense products like Medal. Making clear UX amidst many diverse user needs.
- Platform: Experience working across mobile and desktop, across multiple screen sizes and resolutions.
- Strong taste: A portfolio that demonstrates a sense for strong visual aesthetics. Strong command of visual design principles
- In-person: 5 days per week in NYC
- Gaming: A passion for online communities and gaming culture
- Skilled in Figma
- Interest in UX research: Experienced in conducting qualitative research on users
- High growth start-up alignment: Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable with demanding timelines. Results oriented and comfortable being measured against metrics.
- Design process: You'll spend time lifting the design org as a whole by integrating best practices with limited direction from leadership.
- Communication: Strong collaboration skills and can communicate well both synchronously and asynchronously
- Technical familiarity: Understanding of CSS and its impact on design. Familiar with how design translates to code is a plus.
$120,000 - $200,000 a year
The pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $120,000 and $200,000 per year. However, base pay may vary further depending on individualized factors for candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Moreover, stock options will be issued. Our packages are strong for top-tier talent. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
