The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) drives operational excellence and supports strategic decisions to facilitate the organization’s growth.  While the CFO supervises the finance/accounting and human resource functions and is the primary financial spokesperson for the organization, the CFO will also serve as a thought partner across all functional aspects of the business.  The CFO reports directly to the CEO and will communicate financial results, and work through capital structure issues or M&A opportunities with the Board of Directors and the Company’s private equity investors. 

Duties and Responsibilites

    • Responsible for the direct supervision, training and mentorship of the Finance/Accounting and HR team
    • Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization's mission and help execute staff succession and growth plans.
    • Provide analytical, strategic, and tactical support to executives, senior management, and the private equity firm
    • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial models and develop appropriate analytical tools to help proactively drive business results
    • Be involved in all aspects of M&A, including transactional due diligence and integrations.
    • Management and coordination of all financial reporting activities for the organization in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
    • Oversee general accounting, accounts payable, purchasing, accounts receivable and payroll activities
    • Maintain acute awareness of market and industry trends and adopt best practices
    • Implement scalable systems and processes which support efficient monthly, quarterly and year-end close and reporting cycles
    • Manage banking relationships and monitor banking activities of the organization
    • Cash and working capital management of the business, including developing and managing cash flow forecasts
    • Administer business insurance plans, inclusive of healthcare plans
    • Work closely with outside accounting firm(s) to coordinate timely completion of the annual financial statement audit, all tax and reporting compliance including sales and use tax, state and federal income tax, property tax, 1099s, etc.

Desired Qualifications

    • Prior experience as a CFO within a growth-oriented company for 10 or more years
    • Previous public accounting experience is encouraged
    • Knowledge of the card payment processing industry is highly desired
    • Well-rounded background and skillset in three areas: 1) accounting/controllership, 2) business/operational finance, and 3) capital markets/treasury
    • Investor relations experience via IPO, public company experience, or dealing with private equity or venture capital firms
    • Strategic thinker and a strong communicator
    • Demonstrate leadership competencies in the following areas:  1) Performance Orientation, 2) Strategic Acumen, 3) Collaboration & Influence, 4) Change Management and 5) Team Leadership
    • Proven experience using metrics and analytics to identify business drivers and make resource allocation decisions
    • Be able and willing to be hands-on in all areas of finance/accounting
    • Experienced in and embraces a remote, decentralized organization across multiple time zones
    • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
    • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting required; a CPA and/or MBA preferred
