At MissionWired, we help our partners create revolutionary fundraising strategies that advance their mission, change our country, and have a positive impact on the world.

MissionWired is the only wholly integrated direct marketing agency for nonprofits and Democratic organizations. We help our partners tell big, ambitious stories that invite their supporters into communities to raise mission-changing revenue. Our results are unrivaled, having converted more than $3.1 billion in donations to the world’s most trusted philanthropies and groundbreaking campaigns. We do it over email and SMS, in the mail, across social media, everywhere. We don’t think in terms of channels; we’re single-minded in pursuit of your success.

We’re innovative, progress-obsessed, do-gooders who care deeply about social change and continuing to push the limits on what we can accomplish together. We’ve brought strategies to life for nonprofit organizations working around the world, including Sandy Hook Promise, Human Rights Watch, The Humane Society of the U.S., Save the Children, and Friends of the Earth, as well as progressive political organizations, campaigns and candidates like President Biden’s re-election campaign  and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC). Each cycle is an opportunity for us to support organizations across the country and elect Democrats to legislative bodies up and down the ballot.

We’re an equal-opportunity employer and take seriously our commitment to equality and equity. Our efforts to be inclusive and create opportunity don’t end when someone joins us – they begin.

We’ve set our sights on changing the world through our work and with our clients, and representation is at the foundation of what we do. We know that diversity of thought and background makes us stronger. That’s why we’re committed to building and maintaining a diverse community.

Every new team member broadens our perspective and allows us to think bigger. We’ll be at our best when people from underrepresented communities and people with a range of perspectives and lived experiences want to come, stay, and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

MissionWired is seeking a Coordinator to join our People Operations team to support the administration of People team responsibilities across the full employee lifecycle from Onboarding to Off-boarding. The Coordinator will work primarily within the People Ops team focused on Benefits, Payroll, HRIS Admin, Compensation, and Compliance.

MissionWired has quadrupled in size since 2021 and we continue to work to develop an outstanding People function to support our growing staff. We are looking for someone who is comfortable adapting to change as we scale with a focus on supporting a positive employee experience. You will become a resource for new and existing staff on our company processes, comprehensive benefits, and our full HR tech stack.

This position would include:

    • Being a source of knowledge and support. Employees have questions, you have the answers (or at least, you know how to find them).
    • Being a stickler for the details. Every DOB, SSN, insurance deduction, and address matters.
    • Being data and technology savvy. We haven’t touched a piece of paper in years. Pivot tables, charts, and lookups are used frequently and you should feel comfortable navigating multiple sources of information with a focus on data quality and efficiency.
    • Being someone with unwavering character. You’ll need to maintain the confidentiality of private information and approach situations from a place of empathy and care.

The day-to-day may include:

    • Preparing and maintaining accurate records for all team members, through our HRIS [Rippling] and within all related vendor and benefit portals;
    • Compiling reports for data analysis and projections in our HRIS, performing data quality audits;
    • Working alongside internal and external groups to complete annual audits and filings to ensure compliance in all areas;
    • Implementing process updates as they relate to new hires/exits and other employee life-cycle changes and working closely with our IT and Operations departments to create a seamless experience;
    • Supporting the administration of benefits and leave programs for all team members, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and retirement programs;
    • Identifying and recommending updates to our People-related systems and tools and finding ways to develop automation and efficiency as we grow;
    • Performing benchmarking, market research, and vendor research as it relates to the role; and
    • Ad hoc projects within the People team (e.g. Talent Management, Employee Experience).

Must-have qualifications:

    • 1+ years of experience in an administrative role exposed to the HR function;
    • Experience working with databases like HRIS or CRM platforms (e.g. ADP, Oracle, Workday, Rippling, Paylocity, or similar);
    • Interest in and/or exposure to common HR laws and regulations which might include unemployment insurance, COBRA, FMLA, and other compliance topics related to insurance benefits, 401k, etc.;
    • Intermediate knowledge of Excel and/or Google Sheets – including formulas, pivot tables, and lookups – and other office software (ex. Google Workspace, Google Drive);
    • Impeccable attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong time management; and
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills to be able to clearly and effectively collaborate within the People team and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications that will set you apart:

    • 1+ years of fully-focused in an HR/People capacity; and
    • HR experience in a growth stage company of 100-500+ employees.
Salary range for this role is $54,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience.
