Mona is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Head of Engineering who can wear multiple hats to lead and grow our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in programming and a track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams. They will build for the long term and minimize tech debt by informing larger architectural decisions.

What You'll Do:

    • Develop and implement the engineering strategy in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives by making strategic decisions about technology architecture that result in scalable solutions and reduced technical complexities, ensuring the company's continued success and stability.
    • Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and direction to ensure they are motivated and productive.
    • Take ownership of the product development process and ensure it aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
    • Work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to prioritize and manage the product roadmap.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and marketing, to ensure the development and delivery of high-quality products.
    • Keep abreast of the latest technology and trends in the industry and incorporate them into the product development process.
    • Continuously monitor and improve the engineering team's performance, processes, and tools.
    • Hire, train and manage a world-class engineering team that is diverse and inclusive.

What We're Looking For:

    • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
    • Strong hands-on experience in programming languages such as JavaScript, Unity Game Extensions, MongoDB, Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS.
    • Proven experience in building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Strong understanding of the product.


    • Prior experience with the metaverse, marketplaces, or social networks.
    • Prior experience in building a social app.
