About this Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data Science Team to support the design, development and maintenance of our core data systems. In this role, you’ll support the development and maintenance of new data pipelines, improve data quality and efficiency, and support our data analysts to deliver organized insights to a variety of company stakeholders. This role will report to Jess Steele, our Director of Data Science, and will be a part of a team of data analysts and data engineers.

*The Data Engineer is categorized as a Full Time Independent Contractor remote role based in Brazil. 

Key Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and maintain core data models
    • Support our AWS Data Lakehouse infrastructure
    • Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and tools for gathering, validating, and reporting on internal and external datasets
    • Collaborate with software engineers to maintain Mosaic’s high-quality operational database
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the accuracy of data

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelors in data engineering, computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience
    • 3+ years of experience in backend application and/or data engineering, specifically with Python, SQL, and data warehouse and visualization tools
    • Familiarity with Github and CICD pipelines
    • Understanding of code patterns and best practices
    • Strong communication skills, including communication with non-technical stakeholders
