Department Overview
As a key player in our Tech team and an early member of our startup, you'll have a unique opportunity to shape our digital products from the ground up. This position will report to the Head of Technology and is based in our São Paulo office. You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining components of our internal applications. Your role will involve crafting code that's as robust as it is elegant, devising effective solutions to complex problems, and implementing user-centric interfaces. You'll be at the forefront of designing and building software solutions that not only meet, but exceed our stakeholders expectations. Your expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React and NodeJS will be vital in driving Nestig's success in the digital space.

This full-time position will be based out of our São Paulo office, with no flexibility to be remote full-time.

What You’ll Do

    • Predominantly using JavaScript, ReactJS and NodeJS, develop new features in our internal tools with consideration to scalability, performance, and maintainability;
    • Develop and maintain frontend components of internal applications, ensuring optimal user experience and functionality;
    • Integrate and maintain backend components, fostering seamless interaction between frontend and backend systems;
    • Implement best practices and modern technologies to enhance both frontend and backend performance and scalability;
    • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical discussions to drive continuous improvement and innovation in our internal application development processes;
    • Investigate and resolve reported bugs promptly, collaborating with tech team and end-users to identify issues and implement effective solutions;
    • Actively participate in our product ceremonies such as planning and review, providing technical insights and feasibility assessments for proposed features;
    • Conduct root cause analysis for complex issues and implement preventative measures to minimize future bugs;
    • Proactively monitor and maintain existing features, addressing issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring the overall stability of our platform;
    • Foster a collaborative and communicative environment within the development team and across departments;
    • Develop and implement new features for the internal platform, considering scalability, performance, and maintainability;
    • Collaborate with the tech team to develop and execute comprehensive test plans, ensuring the reliability and correctness of new features and updates;
    • Effectively communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You’ll Need

    • 6+ years experience in a similar role, ideally within an early-stage, growth-oriented company
    • Must be able to work onsite in our São Paulo office three (3) days a week [Monday, Wednesday, Thursday], as well as additionally as needed  
    • Experience with NodeJS on the backend is a plus!
    • Proficient English communications skills, both verbal and written, preferredA passion for coding — you like problem solving and helping people
    • Comfort with the ambiguity of changing priorities and the flexibility to embrace new ideas within a fast-paced environment  
    • Demonstrated ability to autonomously manage multiple assignments at once, while meeting deadlines 
    • A willingness to roll up your sleeves and wear multiple hats
    • Self-starter with a can-do, team-oriented attitude,  "Get it done" style
    • Ability to embody and exercise Nestig's Core Values in all facets of the business
    • Legal authorization to work in Brazil
