About the Role:
Help us advance our robotics moonshot by leading design, development and implementation of theoretical and practical robotic control systems. Including motion planning, kinematics, path planning, multi-agent path planning, and non-linear controls
You will play a critical role in working with our world-class cross-functional team to architect and build the world’s most advanced robotic systems for the world’s biggest robotics opportunity!
Responsibilities
- Define and execute engineering plans within robotic controls and motion planning
- Develop, maintain and scale fault-tolerant and fail-safe robotic control software
- Prototype, test, debug and deploy control algorithms and systems
- Lead motion planning and controls efforts for Nimble’s robotics systems
- Develop advanced algorithms to obtain optimal real-time performance
- Provide input on all aspects of product development from brainstorming to final delivery.
- Develop advanced controllers and control algorithms for robotic arms
- Design and Develop low-level joint controllers for brushless servo motors (PID, FOC)
- Model predictive control, LQR
- Kinematics, dynamics, controls
- Non-linear controls
- Welcome new challenges and work independently across disciplines to both investigate issues and identify solutions.
Qualifications
- Fast learner, A-player, great work ethic and ambitious
- BS/MS/Ph.D. in Mechanical, Computer Science, Robotics, Aerospace, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of industry experience in robotic controls or related field
- Strong experience writing production code in C, C++ and Python
- Experience with system architecture, design and development
- Ability to identify and resolve bugs and issues
