This Role

We’re looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our Product Engineering team at the forefront of AI-powered enterprise compliance software. This is a hybrid role that bridges design and engineering, ideal for someone who thrives in both high-fidelity prototyping and production-ready frontend development. You’ll play a critical role in shaping how users interact with AI–rapidly iterating on ideas, crafting thoughtful user experiences, and bringing them to life in code. You’ll own features and experiences from Figma to production, including UX exploration, prototyping interactions, and building them into our live product.

Core Responsibilities:

    • Prototype and validate new ideas quickly in Figma and in code, helping the team explore and converge on the best user experience for AI-powered compliance workflows.
    • Design and implement forward-thinking UX for human-AI interaction, balancing innovation with clarity, trust, and usability.
    • Own implementation of a robust frontend design system, delivering reusable, consistent, and documented components that scale with the product.
    • Collaborate deeply with designers, engineers, and client engagement teams, ensuring a seamless bridge between UX concepts and shipped software.
    • Help shape design patterns and user flows that make complex AI capabilities approachable and understandable.

Skills & Experience - Core

    • 4+ years of experience in design engineering, frontend development, or hybrid design/engineering roles
    • 3+ years experience writing React, TypeScript and CSS in production settings
    • Experience working in Figma to create prototypes
    • Deep experience with design systems, component libraries, and scalable UI patterns
    • Experience collaborating closely with designers and engineers
    • High ownership mindset with a track record of driving work from concept to completion
    • Strong collaboration skills with designers and engineers across the product lifecycle

Skills & Experience - Pluses

    • Experience working in early-stage startups or fast-moving, ambiguous environments
    • Exposure to human-AI interaction design patterns or agent-based workflows
    • Excited to work on product and work/iterate with customers
    • Familiarity with UI documentation tooling like Storybook

What Success Looks Like - 30 Days

    • You’ve developed a strong understanding of our product, AI capabilities, and core user journeys.
    • You’ve built and tested interactive prototypes for high-priority workflows and contributed improvements to live features.
    • You’ve conducted a design system audit and proposed key improvements for consistency and usability.
    • You’ve established strong working relationships across design, product, engineering, and client engagement teams.

What Success Looks Like - 60 Days

    • You’ve shipped production components and patterns informed by real user feedback and tested prototypes.
    • You’ve launched the first wave of component modernization, building and documenting components that the team uses across features in the live product.
    • You’ve elevated design quality through shared UI patterns.
    • You’ve contributed to the frontend roadmap and become a go-to collaborator for both UX thinking and UI implementation.
