Who We Are Looking For: 
Phoenix Tailings is seeking a strategic and driven VP of FP&A to serve as a key financial leader, guiding the company's financial direction as we scale breakthrough technologies in rare earth and critical metals production. This role is crucial to shaping our growth strategy, enabling data-driven decisions, and building the financial infrastructure that will fuel a sustainable and modern global supply chain. Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead all corporate financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis activities in alignment with company goals 
    • Develop and own long-term financial models, including scenario planning to support strategic initiatives and capital needs 
    • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate business performance and identify levers for improvement and growth 
    • Create and maintain scalable FP&A systems, reporting tools, and dashboards to drive real-time decision-making 
    • Deliver clear, insightful financial reports and board materials that effectively communicate key metrics and strategic implications 
    • Assess and prioritize investment opportunities, including new product lines, capital projects, and expansion plans 
    • Oversee company-wide budgeting processes and implement discipline in cost control and resource allocation 
    • Establish financial KPIs and benchmarks to monitor operational efficiency across all departments 
    • Provide thought leadership on funding strategies, ROI analysis, and financial risk mitigation 
    • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing FP&A team aligned with our values and long-term mission 

Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, including at least 5 years in a leadership role 
    • Proven ability to build, scale, and lead FP&A functions in a high-growth, capital-intensive business (industrial, manufacturing, clean-tech preferred) 
    • Deep expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and capital planning at both operational and strategic levels 
    • Demonstrated success partnering with executive teams to shape company strategy through finance 
    • Experience raising and deploying capital, including managing investor reporting and supporting fundraising 
    • Strong understanding of cost accounting, unit economics, and operational efficiency metrics 
    • Proficiency with modern financial tools (e.g., NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, Excel modeling, Power BI) 
    • Exceptional communication skills with a talent for turning complex financials into clear business insights 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
