The Senior UX Designer will be responsible for gaining deep insight into our users' behaviors and needs through user research and product discovery, as well as identifying and communicating opportunities for innovation and differentiation. You will also be responsible for designing the behavior (interactions) and visual interface of new product features and improving the usability and design of existing ones. Our product makes computer vision easy for both technical and non-technical users so the UX role requires a deep interest and understanding of the computer vision process to take a technical process and make it simple.

What You Will Do

    • Participate in user research to guide product design decisions (contextual inquiry, usability testing, competitive analysis etc.) and collaborate/communicate results to the teams.
    • Help refine the architecture, user interface, product features, and end-to-end experience for new features/functionality.
    • Use Plainsight’s set of established design and visual patterns to strengthen consistency across our product suite; when necessary innovate and expand standards to create world-class experiences.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams of product managers, marketers, and engineers to help define business and feature requirements; analyze empirical data, usability findings, market research, and proven UX principles to justify and prioritize these requirements along with the product management team.
    • Assess and optimize the effectiveness of new and existing features by actively participating in usability testing and user research, and interpreting analytical data.
    • Help create/influence/establish internal UX design pattern standards across different projects and initiatives.
    • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and a seamless user experience to complex designs
    • Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, site maps, and other artifacts to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas

Desired Competencies and Experience

    • 8+ years experience.
    • Experience with SaaS or PaaS enterprise applications.
    • Master of the UX lifecycle with deep, direct experience in all skill areas and tools.
    • Experience designing a product for a technical user or highly complicated interfaces.
    • Customer-focused, with experience using design research methods to uncover customer insights.
    • Advanced ability to communicate complex information using design tools, including low fidelity to high fidelity prototypes, journey maps, storyboards, service blueprints, task flows, diagrams, wireframes & specs, and presentations.
    • A collaborative attitude, excellent teamwork skills, and leading product team with PM’s and Engineering lead.
    • The ability to ideate rapidly and creatively. A willingness to discard or revisit ideas that aren’t working. A laser focus on making a measurable impact.
    • Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides.
    • Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs.
    • Impressive communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
    • Fluency in design and prototyping software such as Sketch, UXPin, Figma, Invision, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent tools
    • Strong understanding of user-centered design process, modern interaction design principles with a combination of design expertise and hands on UI development skill.


This role is 100% remote. Our entire company works virtually, and often across time zones. You will be based remotely and will need to be well-versed in the use of Slack and video conferencing.
