Praxis Labs is a learning and development company with the mission of making society more equitable. Based in Brooklyn, NY, we leverage immersive learning experiences in Virtual Reality, combined with actionable data insights on our learning and reflection platform to improve justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) for our clients and their employees (our learners!). 

Praxis Labs was founded by women of color. We recently launched our flagship learning journey, Pivotal Experiences, with clients like Google, Uber, Nordstrom, Etsy and have been featured in Forbes, Essence, Afrotech, and Fortune.

As a fast growing mission-driven startup, we are looking to grow our HR and People function and are hiring for a Sr. People Operations Associate.

We are returning to office for a couple days a week in New York City in the Spring of 2022 (pending COVID-19 health guidelines). In the interim, we are offering flexible work space.

Salary range: $95,000-$110,000

Impact Opportunities

    • In 1 month, you will have:
    • Reviewed all current systems and processes and identified areas for improvement, consolidation, clearer communication
    • Rolled out an internal HR hub that provides employees with scaffolding and support on their HR, benefits, and development needs
    • Coordinated with hiring managers, identified current status of open roles, and created hiring plan in partnership with teams
    • In 3 months, you will have:
    • Helped manage the hiring process for multiple roles through to offer accepted
    • Developed a standard onboarding process and supported multiple team members as they transition onto the Praxis team
    • Helped plan and execute a team retreatIdentified set of options for NYC office and prepared a proposal for the best option
    • In 6 months, you will have:
    • Helped move the team into a NYC based office location
    • Onboarded 10+ team members
    • Codified our benefits, wellness, and community offerings
    • Created additional learning and development offerings for the team and launched new campaigns to support employee wellness

Role & Responsibilities

    • Manage and conduct full cycle onboarding, orientation and offboarding for employees
    • Lead recruiting process & support managers in recruiting new employeesIdentify and roll out development programs for employees, including training and more
    • Create and manage clear performance acceleration process, and support communication of professional development opportunities and growth at Praxis Labs
    • Draft, modify, and implement company policies and procedures as needed and communicate HR policies, updates, and changes
    • Oversee all aspects of the in person and virtual office life cycle including its general organization and maintenance to ensure a productive, collaborative work space
    • Organizing virtual and in-person team building events (e.g. happy hours, team offsites, wellness events, etc.)
    • Support change management efforts around culture and new programs

Ideal Qualifications

    • Experience with and/or proven passion for diversity, equity and inclusion 
    • Incredibly organized and great at creating systems and processes
    • Experience/interest in building out an HR and Talent organization
    • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
    • Motivated self starter who is comfortable working independently
    • Experience or familiarity with marketing, communications, writing, social media management, storytelling, brand and voice management
    • Excitement and/or experience with learning and development or edtech
