RareCyte is seeking a Lead Research Associate based in our Seattle office. This position will work in teams under the direction of lead scientists to execute liquid biopsy and spatial biology partnership programs, product validations, and strategic collaborations that uniquely employ RareCyte technologies. This individual will oversee the day-to-day activities of the clinical research team and provide coordination, direction, and technical assistance. Responsibilities

    • Design, perform, analyze and interpret experimental work with minimal supervision
    • Provide day-to-day direction and mentorship to a team of Research Associates by organizing, distributing, and prioritizing workload, coordinating schedules/use of equipment and serving as a first point of contact for technical assistance
    • Serve as liaison to Scientists and Management to ensure timely and high quality experiments
    • Work collaboratively on projects with other departments
    • Support the Laboratory Manager to ensure efficient laboratory processes and equipment compliance
    • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) under CLIA regulatory environment
    • Generate reports independently and present results both internally and externally
    • Write SOPs and document results in a LIMS
    • Process human blood samples using RareCyte’s AccuCyte technology
    • Perform immunofluorescence staining of tissue and liquid biopsy samples
    • Manage tissue culture and cell lines
    • Isolate single cells and tissue micro-regions using RareCyte technology
    • Perform single cell and micro-region NGS
    • Perform antibody conjugations

Qualifications

    • BS, BA, MS or equivalent experience in life sciences
    • 7-10 years of industry or academic biology laboratory experience (direct experience as lead may substitute for this qualification)
    • Experience supervising and training junior members
    • Must be able to work independently, manage multiple projects, with excellent interpersonal skills, highly organized and strong attention to detail
    • Experience working with blood samples and automated slide stainers a plus
    • Experience with common laboratory techniques such as flow cytometry, immunofluorescence microscopy, ELISA, Western blot a plus
    • Comfortable learning new technologies and troubleshooting
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
Compensation:
 
Base Salary Range: $88,000 - $105,000 (annually)
 
The base salary range represents an estimated range for this position in the Seattle area. Determining a base wage will be based on several factors which include skill set, level of education, experience and qualifications, as well as the comparison to existing RareCyte employees in the position. Some roles may also qualify for additional compensation such as bonus, commission, stock options and travel allowance.
