The Team
The RevolutionParts North America Operations Team is responsible for driving growth for our install base of Customers. We are the team responsible for delivering the promise of RP ecommerce platform including helping drive GMV growth for our customer base and building awesome experiences that are disruptive and game changing for the auto Industry. This involves a comprehensive understanding of the Automotive ecosystem and evolving RP ecommerce platform to create a ubiquitous experience that is bespoke for each player in the Auto Industry. Analytics is critical for a product led growth company. Core analytics capabilities include the ability to instrument critical metrics, identify the landscape of the entire Industry, figure out opportunities for improvement, work with Product to craft scalable solutions, and monitor their performance. We build this behavioral intelligence by exploring creative interpretations of existing and new sources of data, using advanced analytical techniques, and overlaying the appropriate strategies to deliver exceptional results. We take a multi-disciplinary approach with a broad spectrum of industry experiences and deep analytical and quantitative expertise. 

The Role
We are currently seeking a high energy, driven, collaborative Data Scientist that brings extensive problem-solving skills to further the goal of applying cutting-edge Product analytics, insights and visualization to drive the product roadmap. As a critical member of the Data Science team, this role will have the unique opportunity to influence decision making of the RP Product roadmap with their insights and thought leadership. The role is data and analytically intensive. Successful candidates should be quick learners, strategic problem solvers, operational and execution driven facilitators, and have an entrepreneurial spirit. Skills in problem definition, rigorous analysis, and recommendation development will also be critical as well as demonstration of exceptional social skills, initiative, and detail orientation. We are an incredibly supportive team - we all work, win, and learn together. This is an individual contributor reporting to the Head of Data Science and will be part of a team of strong Data scientists and Analysts who will create the multiplier effect to drive company’s growth.

Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with product and engineering to answer key customer experience questions – challenge their thinking and become a trusted business partner.
    • Help the product teams prioritize analytical deliverables and manage their expectations
    • Perform exploratory analysis of large data sets across the Auto ecommerce domain
    • Derive tactical and strategic insights to improve product strategies and accelerate adoption
    • Experimentation design (A/B, Multi Variate) to test customer interactions with RP product features and provide insights to improve product and tech initiatives
    • Demonstrate strong analytical and statistical skills towards taking complex and unstructured business problems, and providing structured, hypothesis-driven and data-supported practical solutions
    • Have strong empirical & analytical background, with ability to combine quantitative & qualitative findings in order to frame the right questions and measurable insights
    • Be a lateral problem solver, who constructively challenges the obvious answer in order to examine the underlying mechanism or phenomenon
    • See the big picture and connect the dots to evaluate how the insights impact RP’s ecosystemIn addition to delivering insights, create momentum through influence and partnership

Requirements

    • 3+ years of experience in data analytics, data science or related field with a Bachelor’s degree Or 1+ years of experience with a Master’s degree 
    • Bachelor’s / Master’s in Math, Statistics, Engineering, or other quantitative fields
    • Strong technical skills in SQL, R, Python (or any scripting language)Strong analytical / statistical skills in taking complex, unstructured business problems, and providing structured, hypothesis-driven and data-supported practical solutions
    • Technical skills to turn big data in redshift into actionable insights
    • Proven track record of turning insights into product growth opportunities in prior roles
    • Ability to present complex analyses and insights effectively in simple terms 
    • Experience in a leading technology company especially SAAS product is a plus
    • Background in ecommerce product experience is a plus
    • Good experience with both descriptive and inferential statistics – ability to build basic prototype models
    • Machine Learning and working knowledge of Pytorch/Tensorflow/Keras is a plus
