About the role
The Operations Lead is responsible for processing items delivered to the warehouse by Ridwell Van Drivers. The Operations Lead is a key member of the Ridwell team and serves as an asset for sorting items and prepping them to be picked up or delivered to third-party partners. The Operations Lead is also a champion of  Ridwell’s values as a part of the team.

Schedule: This is a full time position, working 9am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional work on evenings and weekends.

Hourly rate: $24/hr

How to succeed in this role

    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
    • Periodically work in outdoor weather conditions, including all 4 seasons (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring).
    • Sort items at Ridwell warehouse that are collected from customers. Constantly open and close cotton drawstring bags and empty contents into larger containers. Sort items into designated containers using care so items can be reused or recycled.
    • Ability to learn company policies and procedures and follow their guidance.
    • Frequently communicate with current, potential, and former customers who have inquiries about their Ridwell membership. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
    • Participates as a part of the entire Ridwell team by collaborating and working well with others.
    • Ability to learn to use the company mobile phone application to use GPS mapping to stop at each pick-up address and input accurate information in the application to save customer data.
    • Communicate any discrepancies on routes and/or pick ups with Ridwell fleet support.
    • Understand time management and communicate with Ridwell fleet support when a route is taking longer than anticipated.
    • Use text message, Slack, and email to communicate with Ridwell fleet support and the employee’s manager.
    • Responsible for proactively checking weekly posted work schedules and adhere to showing up on the correct days/times.
    • Operate equipment such as a pallet jack or baler.
    • Ensure compliance regarding all company policies and procedures.
    • Provide excellent customer service to internal/external customers.
    • Work a rotating schedule and be available on weekends.
    • Work in conjunction with the General Manager to execute the schedule.  Communicate assignments of work/shift objectives, monitor performance indicators, and address needs with team.
    • Operate as a key holding employee responsible for opening and/or closing warehouse procedures, including van assignments, ensuring accurate loading of all vehicles for routes, employee attendance, and delegating opening and/or closing shift work to warehouse employees as needed.
    • Follows and ensures department goals are upheld.
    • Work with General Manager in the coordination of daily dispo runs to partners, ensuring materials are properly sorted/packaged prior to scheduled dispo runs, and leading the logistics of dispo runs as needed.
    • Collaborate with General Manager to forecast labor needs to control costs.
    • Attend and contribute to key weekly meetings.
    • Complete daily shift report to ensure the General Manager is up to date on all processing progress and needs to facilitate a proper daily processing schedule.

    • Must be able to read and follow written or oral instructions in English.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English digitally over text message and email.
    • Experience using pallet jacks and/or balers a plus.
    • Must be 18 years or older.
    • Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach, and lift up to 49 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
    • High school, GED, or equivalent diploma.
    • Must be available to work Monday-Friday and possible weekend shifts.
    • Must pass a background check if offered the position.
    • No previous experience required.
