About the Role
We're currently looking for a Lead Fullstack Engineer to join the core product team of Ezra Climate — a fast-growing US-based startup that’s building tools to simplify and accelerate climate financing. Backed by top-tier investors, Ezra operates at the intersection of technology, finance, and climate action, with a mission to help individuals and businesses invest in projects that benefit the planet.
As a Lead Fullstack Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the technical foundation of the platform, owning full product features from backend to frontend, and collaborating closely with the founding team.

The team operates on a US time zone, so you’ll need to work approximately from 18:00 to 02:00 Minsk time (GMT+3), if located in Belarus.

What You’ll Do:
- Backend & API Development:
- Build scalable, high-performance backend services using Python and FastAPI.
- Work with Pydantic and SQLAlchemy (or similar ORMs) for data modeling and database interaction.
- Maintain clean, versioned RESTful APIs; strong experience with PostgreSQL and Supabase.
- Distributed Systems & Workflows:
- Design robust, fault-tolerant workflows using Temporal or similar tools.
- Implement async task processing, caching strategies (Redis), and secure auth layers (e.g., JWT).
- AI-Native Frontend Development:
- Build real-time, interactive UIs with React/Next.js and TypeScript.
- Use WebSockets or Server-Sent Events (SSE) for live data and conversational interfaces.
- Leverage Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, and tools like Zustand, React Query, or SWR.
- Testing, Infrastructure & Observability:
- Ensure code quality via unit/integration tests (pytest, Jest, React Testing Library).
- Containerize and deploy apps using Docker, Vercel, AWS, or GCP.
- Monitor performance and issues with tools like Sentry and OpenTelemetry.
- Security & Compliance:
- Build with a security-first mindset, applying OWASP best practices.
- Experience operating within SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks is a plus.
- Technical Leadership:
- Own features end-to-end — from technical design through deployment.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and AI/ML teams to shape technical solutions.
What We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years of fullstack engineering experience, ideally in startup or fast-paced environments.
- Proven expertise in Python, FastAPI, React/Next.js TypeScript, and scalable architectures.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, API design, and real-time web interfaces.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Temporal, and cloud platforms.
- A strong focus on quality, observability, and security in production systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to document technical decisions clearly.
- Prior experience working in cross-functional, globally distributed teams is a plus.
- Ability to freely communicate in English - Upper-intermediate level at least.
