About Us

Snif is setting the new standard in fine fragrance. The search for high-quality scented products should be simple, accessible, and fun. We bring our customers what they want to smell and develop new, unexpected ways for them to incorporate fine fragrance into their daily routines.

Every scent we develop is designed to be an immersive experience. From the name, packaging design, and creative campaigns to someone’s first spray, we want them to see and smell the quality behind every release. Our formulas are always made with top-shelf ingredients and are genderless, non-toxic, vegan, and cruelty-free.

Snif products are sold on our DTC site www.snif.co and can also be found at all Ulta Beauty locations. We’ve been featured across notable press outlets including, Forbes, Fast Co., WWD, Vogue, Allure, Cosmopolitan, NY Mag, Harper’s Bazaar, and more. Additionally, we’re backed by some of the most revered investors in the consumer goods space.

We’re a lean team that’s expanding quickly, and we’re looking for someone who believes in our vision to shift the way people experience scents.

The Role:

There is no person more important than our customer, and there is no objective more important than customer loyalty and retention. As the Director of Loyalty and Retention Marketing, you’ll own the strategy, execution, and performance of this entire effort. This role requires an individual who has the desire and ability to establish connections with our customers and gain an understanding of customer groups at the strategic level. This role will include all retention marketing efforts (email/SMS), customer analysis and surveying, and all loyalty efforts.

The core metrics you care about are repeat purchase rate, customer retention rate, revenue driven by email and SMS, open rate, click-through, unsubscribe, and most importantly, overall customer satisfaction.

The individual we are looking for can wear multiple hats. You love (and want) to be in the weeds, which means owning the creative process, asset development, and scheduling. At the same time, you are a leader and strategist with the ability to set long-term objectives and think critically about how we continue to deliver a premium experience for our existing customers.

What You'll Do:

    • Develop and execute Snif’s overall retention strategy and roadmap; always thinking about how to best serve our existing customers and optimize LTV, retention, and repeat rates
    • Own and lead our understanding and perspective on customer behavior, the customer journey, cohort analysis, segmentation, and user experience
    • Own Snif’s email and SMS technical stack across both acquisition and retention; this includes outbound campaigns as well as our automated and triggered flows (e.g., Welcome Series, Post-Purchase)
    • Coordinate all email and SMS content creation which includes visual asset creation; work cross functionally with Brand, Creative, copywriters, and graphic designers
    • Work with internal and external creative teams to create compelling, on-brand assets (visual and written) to communicate the value of Snif to new and existing customers
    • Lead customer surveying to understand and improve engagement
    • Own the definition, creation, and reporting of Snif’s repeat and retention metrics and create the quantitative and qualitative infrastructure to support accountability as we grow

What You'll Bring:

    • 6+ years of experience in marketing or high-growth role preferred; relevant experience in an e-commerce/DTC environment is a major plus
    • Experience owning and evolving email and SMS marketing programs
    • For you, there is no problem too big; you have an ability to breakdown complex problems or processes into small parts and understand them at a fundamental level
    • You have an insane attention to detail
    • You are data-driven, but have an ability to translate data into simple, real-world outcomes and goals
    • You can provide a portfolio of works that show your design ability
    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
    • Experience with testing and segmenting to optimize performance
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to create and executive a plan and timeline, and analyze its performance
    • Experience with Klaviyo and Postscript is strongly preferred
    • You are curious and innovative; You’re constantly seeking ways to make a product or process the best it can be
    • You want (perhaps even need) the excitement, grind, and freedom that comes with an early-stage and fast growing startup

Bonus Points:

    • E-commerce, fragrance/beauty, or DTC experience
    • Adobe Creative Suite experience
