Senior People Experience Partner for Engineering and Product acts as a strategic partner to the Engineering and Product teams, aligning People strategies and practices with the specific needs of these dynamic and innovative departments. This role involves providing expert and experienced guidance on talent management, organizational design, and employee relations, while fostering a high-performance culture that drives product development and engineering excellence.

This role will be based out of our Los Angeles, CA office and has a hybrid work schedule (3 in-person days per week).

What You'll Do:

    • Strategically partner with Engineering and Product leadership to understand business objectives and design People strategies that support the development and delivery of cutting-edge products and technologies.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on People-related matters, including leadership development, organizational design, team structure, and workforce planning.
    • Support people management initiatives, engagement and retention, and development strategies to ensure the Engineering and Product teams attract and retain top talent.
    • Work with leadership to proactively identify skill gaps and develop targeted training and development programs to enhance team capabilities in partnership with the Learning & Development team.
    • Provide expert guidance and exercise mature judgment on complex employee relations issues within Engineering and Product, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
    • Partner with leaders to design and implement organizational structures that enhance team effectiveness and support the rapid pace of innovation.
    • Lead and execute strategic and complex change management efforts within Engineering and Product, ensuring smooth transitions during periods of growth, restructuring, or other organizational changes.
    • Oversee the performance management process for Engineering and Product, ensuring alignment with business goals and providing coaching to managers on effective feedback and development practices.
    • Drive the creation of performance metrics that reflect the technical and innovative nature of the work within these teams.
    • Analyze People data specific to Engineering and Product, identifying trends and insights to inform decision-making and strategy.
    • Develop and implement strategic and impactful initiatives to foster a high-performance culture within Engineering and Product, emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What You've Done:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
    • 8+ years of experience in People/HR, with a focus on partnering with technical teams such as Engineering or Product Development.
    • Deep understanding of the challenges and dynamics within engineering and product environments, including the demands of agile and iterative development processes.
    • Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and experience managing complex employee relations issues.
    • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders in a technical setting.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience with organizational development and change management, particularly within technical or R&D functions.

The anticipated gross base annual salary range for this role is $135,000 – $165,000 per year. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
