About the job 
StubHub is seeking an experienced and strategic social media professional to lead our global function, based at headquarters in New York City. As the Global Strategist of Social Media, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing StubHub’s brand, social and communications strategy over existing and emerging social channels for two brands – StubHub in North America and viagogo internationally. As Global Strategist of Social Media, you will lead organic social and social customer care strategy, as well as partner closely with our Paid Social Acquisition team to ensure alignment. You will lead and develop a dedicated team supported by agencies to expand StubHub and viagogo's global social media channels and their impact on business goals. This includes leading function resource management, channel strategy, audience development, influencer programming, content strategy, and impact measurement. 
 
You will also play a pivotal role in shaping our brand and communication strategies at large, aligned with our business goals and our customer needs.

What You'll Do

    • In this role, you'll be a bridge-builder, ready to work cross-functionally across multiple teams, including Organic Social, Creative, Customer Service, Paid Social Acquisition, Partnerships, Comms and Product. You’ll develop and advocate for social KPIs that enhance our brands' reputations, grow audiences, and generate leads. 

    • Strategy: You'll conceive, develop and manage a comprehensive social media strategy for StubHub and viagogo and our leaders. You’ll evolve our programming into new platforms, influencer marketing, creator strategy and more.  
    • Content + Engagement: You’ll lead, shape and implement the channel strategy and serve as the in-house expert on social channels, community management and smart content programming. You’ll endlessly innovate with a strong point of view, leveraging channel performance data, customer insights and industry trends. You’ll champion a unique voice and vibe that appeals to our global audience and drives results. You will also help develop social media guidelines for all employees. 
    • Planning + Production: You and your team will be responsible for developing a content calendar across channels and projects. You will manage the concepting, production and execution of creative assets to support the content strategy. 
    • Measurement + Reporting: You’ll develop and evolve our measurement and reporting approach to demonstrate the impact of projects and the function, utilizing social analytics and the tools you identify. 
    • Collaboration: You’ll work collaboratively with the Customer Service, Product, Partnerships and especially the Paid Acquisition and Affiliates team to maximize the value of assets and resources and achieve business objectives. 
    • Integration: You’ll work cross-functionally and with our agency partners in the US and international markets to stay abreast of integrated campaigns and other initiatives and determine how the social team can best support them.   
    • Issues Management: You’ll support issues management as it pertains to the channel opportunities and objectives both proactively and reactively from customer care to brand needs.  
    • Resource + Talent Management: You’ll lead, recruit, and retain a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. 

Who You Are

    • 10+ years' experience in the social media industry with deep knowledge of social media storytelling, platform strategy and programming.  
    • Strong writing and communications skills to ensure captioning, scripting, and copywriting quality. 
    • Knowledge of the performance media space and a track record of successful collaboration with the paid social/acquisition team. 
    • Experience working with customer service teams and issues management to provide strategic and content recommendations in support of each. 
    • Results oriented and heavily experienced with providing robust measurement and tracking insights and turning insights into opportunities 
    • Experience using and evaluating social publishing and social listening tools, and the ability to interface directly with agencies and vendors. 
    • Enthusiasm and excitement about the live event space, and an intuitive understanding of how social media frames the live event experience. 
    • High tolerance for change, and the capacity to achieve in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. 
    • Strong stakeholder management skills. Can distill diverse and, at times, competing inputs from stakeholders to set a vision and design the right long-term solution. 
    • Highly collaborative — you’re not afraid to lead or follow and believe in the power of “showing” your work. 
    • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and native video editing for TikTok and Reels a plus.  
    • Motivated team player with a hands-on mentality and a willingness to explore and try new things – not afraid to roll up your sleeves to meet a goal. Highly organized, adaptable and proactive, and able to assess and prioritize on the fly. Previous experience with people management strongly preferred. 
    • Experience in a global business and managing sub-brands is a major plus. 
    • Experience in a service-based (hospitality, travel), marketplace or sharing economy industries is a major plus.

$145,000 - $185,000 a year
The anticipated gross base annual salary range for this role is $145,000 – $185,000 per year. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.

The Global Communications team is responsible for how we communicate about the company to key stakeholders, including consumers, media, partners, policymakers and employees. Our job is to craft the right narratives that support StubHub’s mission to become the go-to live event destination for live events around the world, and to deploy these narratives strategically across all earned channels. We work cross-functionally with every aspect of the business – from Product to Partnerships, Supply to Fulfillment, Customer Support to Acquisition Marketing and more – to help build our reputation, raise brand awareness and affinity for StubHub and our international brand viagogo, as well as create and foster how we communicate with our employees worldwide.
