Role: Head of Engineering, Consumer Experience (CX) 
Location: Los Angeles, Irvine, NYC, or Remote 

We would like to see someone who has: 

    • 10+ years' experience managing high-performing teams, with a track record of creating and rapidly scaling whole organizations 
    • Deeply technical, able to earn the respect of team members based on your technical skills and prior career achievements 
    • Effective at collaborating with colleagues from anywhere in the organization, able to manage up and across to bring everyone along for the journey 
    • A compassionate coach and mentor, with a strong network of people that you’ve helped find their own successes 
    • Able to define and leverage metrics to understand the performance and health of your teams, the products they ship and the customers you are serving 
    • An infectious customer obsession that you’ve consistently leveraged to ship products and experiences that surprise and delight 
    • Have built and supported consumer products that scaled efficiently, inclusively, and responsibly through orders of magnitude of customer and business growth 
    • A proven ability to create a culture of data-driven innovation, experimentation, and iteration in consumer-focused engineering teams, with many high-impact product wins shipped 

As Head of Engineering at StubHub, your responsibilities will include:

    • Co-own the vision and strategy for StubHub’s consumer experience products and platform 
    • Translate ambitious and ambiguous product goals into equally ambitious engineering roadmaps - and then deliver against them 
    • Recruit and build an inclusive, high-performing organization, leveraging your network, your team’s network, and partnering with our talent team 
    • Foster a culture of engineering excellence that ensures our customers, partners, and internal teams have a consistent and high-quality experience on a global scale 
    • Drive a culture that obsesses over customer value and creates opportunities to innovate and delight 
    • Mentor and coach senior engineering team members, creating opportunities to scale your impact over hundreds of team members

One of your first missions will be to build and nurture the team to execute on that vision; we’ll expect you to have a track record of growing diverse, high-performing teams that have innovated and executed on world-class consumer experiences. 

About the Team:  
The Consumer Experience (CX) team is responsible for the end-to-end core product experience for fans looking to discover, buy and sell tickets to their favorite live events through our web and mobile platforms. It sits at the forefront of fulfilling StubHub’s mission to become the go-to destination for access to any live event anywhere in the world by directly impacting the product that millions of fans interact with every day. We are obsessed with understanding our users’ needs and delivering feature innovations, both short-term and long-term, that are as effective as they are enjoyable. We serve a global fan base and aim to deliver an experience that feels personal to every individual by serving a localized experience in 170 countries around the world, servicing buyers and sellers in 38 currencies and 40 different languages. We believe that diversity of thought and transparency of impact foster the best innovations which is why we are a cross-functional team of specialists in product, design, engineering and data working closely together with equal voice in ideation and equal access to insights. We work across the entire technological stack leveraging any tool or technology necessary to support web and mobile feature innovation at scale.
