We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Director of Communications who will be responsible for leading our strategic communications efforts and media managementto enhance our communication strategies. As the Director of Communications, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing our communication initiatives to effectively reach and engage our target audience.

What You'll Do:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic communications plan that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives and company priorities. 
    • Lead and manage all aspects of media relations, including building relationships with key media outlets, crafting press releases, and coordinating interviews and media coverage. 
    • Oversee strategic components of the organization's online presence and digital communications strategy, ensuring optimal use of search engine optimization and content marketing to increase visibility and drive traffic. 
    • Utilize artificial intelligence technologies to analyze data, generate insights, and improve communication strategies. 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all internal and external communication channels 
    • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and industry influencers to enhance the organization's reputation and reach. 
    • Identify and leverage mission aligned strategic partnerships to build the brand and grow our business.  
    • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in strategic communications, media management, SEO, and AI. 
    • Partner with Executive team and CEO on conferences, speeches, investor presentations and industry initiatives. 

What You'll Bring To The Role:

    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. 
    • Proven experience in strategic communications, media management, search engine optimization, and leveraging AI technologies. 
    • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, including SEO techniques, content marketing, and social media management. 
    • Experience with issue advocacy, community-driven initiatives and working with historically marginalized communities. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage AI technologies to derive insights and make data-driven decisions. 
    • Ability to lead and inspire a team, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. 
    • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. 
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and media outlets. 
    • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance standards. Ed tech industry experience is a plus. 
The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $170,000 per year. The salary range associated with this job considers the location and skill set.
