The Operations Assistant is a key member of the Thuuz Operations team, which is responsible for supervision and success of Operational Objectives. This role’s main focus will be to support a live digital video production environment for delivery of automated sports highlights to customers and partners around the world. The Operations Assistant will have full awareness and ownership of procedures and appropriate contacts that can respond to any situations that need further attention to ensure a successful outcome.The role includes includes applying and recommending improvements to the Operational workflow as well as Training highlights analysts, so they are capable of ensuring top quality highlights for Thuuz’s customers. This role will ensure that all documentation remains current at all times.The position will be located in Palo Alto, CA and the ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and capable of working seamlessly across teams, including working closely with Engineering. This position requires regular work on weekends and off-hours (the standard work week will include both weekend days).

What You Get to Do

Primary point of contact with all team members for any required dialogue or incident management during live events and/or VOD processing

Coordinate with interdepartmental teams (including Engineering and Operations) to ensure active and on-call live event coverage needed to manage and proactively address any issues for all events that require processing

Apply operational runbooks for events and services that detail processes and paths to resolution, along with appropriate contacts; looking for opportunities to automate where possible

Actively monitor all dashboards and activities associated with live events and provide direction and proactive recommendations and resolution on any issues that arise

Coordinate with the Operations team in proactively proposing and characterizing procedures and improvements, recommending solutions

Ability to provide feedback on overall highlight quality and train Highlight Analysts on key learnings

Understand customer-specific needs to ensure that any unique requirements are identified ahead of time and properly managed to meet or exceed customer expectations

Directly monitor key events on behalf of customers as required

What You Need to Bring

1 - 3+ years experience directly supporting video and/or broadcasting operational production.

Live production experience a plus.Deep knowledge of a wide variety of major sports, with strong ability to articulate and prioritize the best action for highlights training and review

Drive and manage the organization and structure of production workflows

Available during non-traditional hours to manage all resources and processes for live events

Ability to work with Engineering teams to communicate both internal and external messaging before and after live events

Ability to work within and across teams, both internally and externally, to ensure resources are lined up for scheduled events and willingness to do whatever it takes to fill in when other resources are not available

Advanced problem resolution skills

Ability to anticipate potential issues and propose action plans and procedures to avoid them, or quickly and effectively resolve them

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Ability to balance customer needs alongside those of Thuuz

What Will Set You Apart

Deep understanding of live streaming video workflows

Operational experience with large scale live events

Knowledge of video codecs, video playback and common streaming protocols

Proven record delivering large audience events for news, sports and entertainment

Background in developing and supporting new methods for live video delivery
