The role:

Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the Director of Business Development will function as a collaborative team player with the business development, alliance management, and marketing teams. Key responsibilities will include understanding how to partner with pharmaceutical organizations, presenting our technology to potential partners, moving deals through the funnel, and closing partnerships.

Additional Responsibilities

    • Build a relationship with our partners to understand their needs, and work closely with the business development team to ensure alignment with our technology
    • Analyze the clinical trial landscape and identify partnership opportunities in Unlearn’s target disease areas 
    • Evaluate partnership opportunities and push forward the opportunities that maximize value and minimize risk
    • Close partnership deals that are aligned with Unlearn’s commercial strategy
    • Collaborate with the business development team to meet bookings and revenue targets
    • Collaborate with alliance management to ensure existing partnerships are tracking to their goals
    • Help define key market opportunities and represent Unlearn at events and conferences

Requirements

    • 6+ years of sell-side business development experience with a focus on long-term partnerships
    • Experience working within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries is required
    • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree highly desired
    • Deep understanding of Unlearn’s customer segments, service offerings, and key differentiators

Technical Proficiency

    • Superb negotiation and stakeholder management skills
    • Ability to draft complex contracts
    • Scientific knowledge sufficient to successfully pitch to scientific teams (e.g., clinical affairs, biostatistics, data science) and draft statements of work.
    • Deep understanding on how to partner with pharmaceutical companies
    • Excellent problem solving and and project management skills
