IT Systems Administrator

Vast is looking for an IT professional to help us develop the infrastructure to support an engineering team designing and building a space station.


    • Be responsible for the IT infrastructure for a startup aerospace company as it scales
    • Support engineers with on premises server infrastructure
    • Acquire, set up, and maintain networking equipment ( switches, VPNs, Access points)
    • Manage IT needs for onboarding new team members (deploying computers, account setup, etc..)
    • Set up and maintain engineering and manufacturing enterprise software (databases, Clients, VMs)
    • Keep things running smoothly and efficiently with minimal impact to engineers and employees
    • Perform Helpdesk services as needed
    • Keep systems up to date, backed up and secure

Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar
    • 3+ years of experience working as an IT professional

Preferred Skills & Experience:

    • Early-stage startup company experience a plus
    • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment
    • Server management experience
    • Understanding basic networking, including subnets, routing, and VLANs; Cisco experience and/or certification
    • Linux Operating System experience and/or certification for current versions
    • VMWare experience with current version
    • Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (HBSS/Solar Winds/Splunk)
    • Mid to Advanced level Scripting
    • Creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment
