The Account Executive role presents an opportunity to join one of the fastest growing firms in the industry and plays a significant role in the continued evolution of our highly successful Small Business Unit Practice. The Account Executive is the CEO of their respective Book of Business. Responsible for being the quarterback of the team, this person will have extensive interactions with both client and producer, in addition to leading their client success team toward greatness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Acquire and develop deep understanding of client’s business model and specific risk profile including tolerance to risk retention.
•Develop strong client relationships and provide clients with exceptional and consultative risk management experience.
•Identify client exposure to risk/loss and provide strategy to avoid loss through a variety of means including insurance risk transfer.
•Create detailed service plans driven by client goals, strategies, and business model.
•Develop marketing plans to include creation of insurance specifications, timelines, and complete market selections.
•Ability to quickly gain trust and negotiate skillfully in difficult situations both internally and externally.
•Understand, create, and implement insurance concepts and programs. 
•Create, cultivate, and sustain carrier relationships.
•Proactive awareness and understanding of market changes, judicial and legislative outcomes, and new/changed market products. 
•Oversee invoicing and coordinates between client and accounting to fully process; follows up on receivables for assigned clients, ensuring timely collections. 
•Ensure that account data supports the integrity of company accounting and tracking systems. 
•Act with responsiveness, urgency, and professionalism in all client interactions.  
•Provide technical insurance expertise to team members and clients. 
•Explain complex insurance concepts in an easy and relatable manner.
•Articulate and deploy Virtus services to prospective and existing clients including cross-sell opportunities.
•Assists with team with additional training, questions, escalations, etc.
•Other tasks as needed and assigned. 

Education, Experience & Skills: 
•Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and/or years of experience equivalent. 
•5+ years of previous related Property and Casualty insurance experience required. 
•2+ years of experience independently managing a book of business required. 
•Active Property & Casualty license required. 
•CPCU and other professional and insurance designations preferred. Must have familiarity and good working knowledge of various Microsoft software applications (Excel), Agency Management Systems, and the ability to learn new software systems.
•Demonstrated strong organizational and project management skills required.
•Position requires direct communication with clients; therefore, strong written and oral communication skills, with a commitment to impeccable customer service are required. 
•Ability to utilize all resources available to find answers for client inquiries and fully resolve any insurance related issues is required. 
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
•Applies solid knowledge of major insurance coverages, (including general/product liability, commercial automobile, workers’ compensation, property, time element, umbrella, financial coverages, etc.), client-specific coverages and premium rating methods and audits.
•Understands the structure and content of insurance contracts and is aware of most commercial insurance coverages.
•Experience evaluating and placing management liability, cyber, professional liability, and other specialty coverages a plus. 
•Previous experience working in carrier online systems with the ability to online rate a plus.
