Compensation: $80,000-$110,000/year On target earnings (OTE)
How does our Sales Manager Drive Impact?
- Meet or exceed new vehicle OEM sales objectives
- Meet or exceed sales targets/budgets
- Create, implement, and maintain training programs to increase sales, customer satisfaction and product knowledge including walkarounds and after sales product demonstrations.
- Ensure processes are followed/implemented for manager touch on each sales customer
- Maintain or increase look to book ratio on trades in and out of market
- Perform daily/weekly training on phone skills, walkarounds and all other aspects of the sales process. Motivate
- Increase per vehicle finance dollars and after sales products
- Ensure sound business decisions are made including managing out of state payments and transactions. Mitigate risk.
- Ensure proper processes are in place to promote strong internet and show floor close ratios and proper contacts per lead. Lead by doing, not just saying.
- Manage acceptable retainage and gross
- Assist in establishing annual and monthly objectives for unit sales, gross profits, expenses and operating profit for the New Vehicle Department
- Partner with the finance center to develop and coordinate best practices and finance product sales
- Assist Customer Specialists in closing sales as needed and conduct “Fly-Bys”/TO’s on every deal
- Follow company rules for safeguarding customer information at all times
- Manage the efforts of vehicle salespeople to enhance the customer satisfaction rating of the dealership and exceed the minimum standard for the Customer Satisfaction Index
- Support online customers through the Sales Business Development Center (BDC)
- Coordinate with the marketing team to monitor internet websites daily to ensure an accurate display of new inventory
- Review market analyses and sales reports to determine volume potential and necessary variable pricing adjustments weekly
- Give input to develop sales campaigns and advertising to accommodate the goals of the dealership and also display, merchandise, and promote new vehicles at all times
- Maintain close communication with the New Inventory Manager and Variable Pricing Team
- Verify that every customer is being offered ancillary products per Walser Policy
- Ensure that titles for trades are collected at the time of sale and verify that payoff information is correct
- Manage collection of factory rebates
- Coordinate in-store training that relates to new vehicles
- Communicate and educate BDC and in store staff of monthly factory rebate programs
- Train and manage staff in company policies and ensure adherence to all company policies
- Motivate, counsel and monitor the performance of all department staff conducting disciplinary action or PIPs as needed and administer annual performance evaluations for staff with thoughtful feedback
- Appraise staff productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status
- Ensure staff completes all required job duties in an accurate and timely manner
- Complete employee terminations based on policy violations with HR approval
- Manage all staff pay rates and hours worked, schedules, time off, and other administrative duties
- Coordinate with the Recruiting Department to interview and hire department staff
- Ensure that any employee relations issues or concerns are addressed and escalated to HR when necessary
- Monitor and assist in the implementation of company initiatives and legal compliance measures and ensure the communication of company news on a regular basis
- Ensure Walser service processes and scripts are followed by employees
- Support the career and professional development of staff
- Lead by example and be an advocate for staff
We're Looking For:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a minimum of 1 year automobile sales experience
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must have a positive attitude and work well in a team environment
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
