Job Overview
The Quality Controller ensures that every shoe and bag cleaned or restored at Washmen meets the company’s high standards before delivery to the customer. The role focuses on checking quality, spotting problems early, guiding technicians, and making sure all processes are followed correctly. By doing this, the Quality Controller protects the customer’s experience and helps the team work more efficiently.
Key responsibilities
● Quality Inspection: Conduct detailed inspections of shoes and bags after cleaning or restoration, ensuring they meet standards of cleanliness, appearance, and craftsmanship.
● Defect Identification & Reporting: Detect imperfections, damage, or incomplete work; report findings promptly; and collaborate with technicians for corrective action.
● Process Compliance: Ensure all services strictly follow Washmen’s SOPs, safety measures, and industry best practices.
● Customer Protection: Safeguard customer experience by identifying potential issues before delivery and resolving quality concerns effectively.
● Decision-Making: Make quick and accurate pass/fail judgments on items, ensuring consistency and fairness.
● Training & Mentorship: Provide feedback and training to technicians to improve quality standards and prevent repeated issues.
● Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, quality checks, and recurring issues for weekly and monthly reporting.
● Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce claims, and maintain high service standards.
● Collaboration: Work closely with assessment, customer service, QC, and technician teams to ensure seamless communication and timely completion of items.
● Feedback Integration: Collect and act on feedback from customers and management to refine quality control procedures.
Key Requirements:
● Experience: Minimum 2 years in quality control, preferably within shoe/bag cleaning, restoration, or a related industry.
● Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot minor defects, inconsistencies, or risks across all materials (leather, suede, nubuck, fabric, synthetics).
● Accountability & Discipline: High-level mentality with strong responsibility for outcomes, consistency, and process adherence.
● Problem-Solving: Analytical thinker with strong decision-making skills to provide quick, accurate, and fair quality judgments.
● Communication & Teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to collaborate effectively with technicians and management.
● Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage peak workloads, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
● Customer Focus: Passionate, committed, and customer-oriented; dedicated to protecting customer experience at every stage.
