The Environmental Specialist will play a key role in safeguarding the organization’s environmental, health, and chemical safety standards. This position focuses on ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, implementing best practices in industrial hygiene, and supporting health and safety initiatives. Working closely with the HSE Manager and team, the specialist will conduct environmental impact assessments, monitor environmental performance, manage chemical and waste practices, and promote awareness of environmental and industrial hygiene responsibilities across the organization. This role will primarily focus on environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives, with opportunities to grow into full EHS( Environmental, Health & Safety) responsibilities over time.

Ensure compliance with UAE federal, Dubai local, and international environmental regulations, including DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and MOCCAE requirements.

Monitor air, water, and wastewater discharges, chemical usage, and waste management practices to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote sustainability.

Obtain and maintain all required environmental permits and licenses.

Support preparation for environmental clearance certificates, audits, and inspections from the relevant authorities.

Implement proper segregation, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, including sludges, used detergents, solvents, and other chemical materials/containers.

Ensure all chemical products comply with UAE safety standards and maintain up-to-date Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Advise on reduction, reuse, recycling, and recovery initiatives to minimize environmental impact.

Support the development and implementation of eco-friendly and sustainable practices such as energy and water conservation, chemical substitution, and green packaging.

Monitor the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.

Conduct environmental training and awareness programs for employees in line with UAE regulations and company standards.

Promote a culture of environmental responsibility across the organization.

Maintain environmental records, reports, and dashboards for management and regulatory submission.

Prepare Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and standards.

Participate in meetings, internal and external environmental audits as required.

Investigate and report environmental incidents, near misses, and spills.

Recommend corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence and ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards.

Bachelor’s degree in, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, EHS/HSE Management or related field.

NEBOSH Environmental Certificate or IEMA qualification is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and industrial hygiene standards.

4–6 years of experience in environmental safety, industrial hygiene, or analyst roles.

Solid understanding of UAE federal, Dubai, and international environmental regulations, including waste management, air/water quality, and chemical safety.

Excellent reporting, documentation, and communication skills.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Notion, Asana, Slack, or similar tools is desirable.

Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.

Fluency in English; proficiency in Hindi or other languages is a plus.

Exposure to operational environments with potential heat, noise, and chemical hazards.

Occasional travel for site inspections or meetings.

Shift work may be required to ensure continuous Environmental/Health & Safety oversight.
