Your Team & Role
 As a member of the SA team, you will be part of the global team of Zadara Solution Architects and have the opportunity to work directly with the Zadara product and engineering teams, Zadara existing Managed Service Providers (MSPs) looking to integrate the Zadara compute and storage services with their end-users, own products and service offerings.

The team will also be a single point of contact to gather new professional services’ requests from the Sales reps, do the feasibility checks and implement the chargeable services by either internal or external resources.  
 
As a Solutions Architect, you will be required to be not only knowledgeable but be the focal point in Japan and share your knowledge across the company through internal training, documentation, sample configs, reference architectures and tools.
You will need to be adept at interacting, communicating, and partnering with other teams within Zadara and its ecosystem such as security and compliance, services teams, solutions architecture, sales and marketing.
 
The primary role involves engaging Zadara partners and customers alongside the Zadara sales executives to provide a best in breed solution based around Zadara’s compute and storage as service offerings. You’ll have a direct impact in helping our customers gain the most value from cloud technology. You’ll craft and execute strategies to drive our customers’ adoption and use of Zadara services. This includes a range of offerings, such as integrating VMware Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google, and other public cloud capabilities with Zadara capabilities into new or existing infrastructure designs to provide comprehensive solutions offering.
 
The ideal candidate must have excellent presentation skills, the ability to think independently and contribute as part of a successful team to deliver a win-win outcome. They should have demonstrable capabilities in being both technically and commercially aware of the needs of a customer or partner.
 
You must also enjoy learning and introducing new features, functionality, and technology in order to help colleagues, partners and customers embrace and adopt new technology. Furthermore, thought leadership in terms of looking beyond the technology and articulating the business value our technology creates for partners and customers by driving innovation are viewed as important aspects of the role.

Duties and Responsibilities

    • As a member of this SA team, you will work primarily with existing Managed Service Providers (MSPs), helping them to grow and develop their current Zadara compute and storage services.
    • You will ensure success in helping customers accelerate their adoption of Zadara comprehensive storage and compute services. Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the Zadara solutions engineering and partner solutions architect communities.
    • Become a trusted advisor and develop trusted relationships with key representatives within the customer and partner base; working closely with them to understand their ongoing business needs, technical requirements, and challenges.
    • Demonstrate excellent project management skills, act as a conduit and liaison between customers, support service, engineering, and product management and management teams.
    • Ensure existing Zadara customer clouds remain operationally healthy by working with support on monitoring and management of the customer clouds.
    • Arrange and deliver in conjunction with sales, SA and support business reviews for the existing customer base.
    • Guide and motivate the development of White Papers, data sheets, proof of concept best practices, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practice information.
    • Help train partners and customers on maximizing the benefits of the Zadara ecosystem.
    • Position and propose innovative approaches to customer challenges to meet their business goals.
    • Must have strong communication skills and be very technical, with the ability to earn trust with Zadara customers and partners at any level, from executive to developer.

Basic Qualifications

    • Must reside in Japan and have work authorization
    • Must be fluent in both Japanese and English (spoken and written) Fluency is mandatory, including the ability to facilitate and translate deep technical discussions. Ability to speak and write in Intermediate/Upper Intermediate English is mandatory.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent experience.
    • 5+ year experience in a similar customer-facing role as a Technical Account Manager, Consultant, Solutions Architect, Platform Engineer, Systems Engineer or Cloud Architect.
    • Detailed knowledge and expertise around cloud architecture and implementation features (AWS/Azure/GCP,OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization (KVM, VMware and Hyper-V), orchestration, elastic scalability).
    • Demonstrate firm knowledge and experience of SAN / NAS / Object storage technologies.
    • Demonstrate firm knowledge and experience with Data Center networks and network topologies.
    • Experience working with customers in highly regulated industries that have requirements for working with one or more security and compliance regimes
    • Proven experience in consultative technical sales or professional services with a proven track record of success.
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across internal and external organizations and virtual teams.
    • The ability to gain credibility and build relationships with all levels in an organization, from technical experts to senior executives
    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
    • Customer focused.

Nice to haves

    • Advanced degree in computer science, engineering or mathematics or equivalent experience.
    • Previous experience working with Managed Service Providers (MSPs).
    • Understanding of VMware and/or AWS technologies.
    • AWS Solutions Architecture Certification or VMware Certification would be an advantage.
    • Understanding of Application workloads such as SQL, Oracle, SharePoint, Docker, Kubernetes services would be an advantage.
    • Understanding of Backup, Disaster Recovery solutions and architectures.
    • Expert software architecture skills and experience building complex software systems designs.
    • Extensive hands-on, technical experience working VMware and/or AWS technologies.
