We believe that businesses of all sizes deserve better financial and payment products and services. Traditionally, businesses of all sizes are let down by slow applications, protracted onboarding, opaque pricing, restrictive contracts and forced to use outdated solutions that no longer meet the innovative requirements of modern business.
We started our journey four years ago, and have since helped tens of thousands of Australian businesses reduce the complexity and time taken to take and make payments, manage complex fleets of payment hardware, store and save money and lead the conversation in business-to-business fintech. We’re now taking our next steps in expanding our industry and world leading capabilities into the United Kingdom.
Our company is backed by leading global VCs, and brings together experienced payment and tech industry professionals who are aiming to redefine business banking and the way businesses get paid by their customers.
If you are passionate, curious, hungry and seeking an opportunity to make your mark on Fintech in the United Kingdom, with the strength of a global team behind you - we’d love to talk to you. This is a unique opportunity to shape, direct and build better financial services for all UK businesses.
About the role
We are recruiting for a hands-on, growth-oriented and strategic Sales Lead to set-up and grow a national team of Account Executives. Reporting to the UK Managing Director, you’ll own the bookings and revenue target for our Sales function and set the strategy and direction for your team to achieve it through recruiting, motivating and coaching your team; optimising the sales funnel from lead generation to conversion and revenue realisation; and streamlining all operations and processes to drive efficiency in our sales process.
Role responsibilities
- Recruit a team of Account Executives and lead combined KPIs.
- Define and execute the optimal sales strategy which accelerates customer adoption and grows our merchant base, driving utilisation across our complete product offering (but with a primary focus on payments acceptance).
- Coach and mentor your team to achieve bookings and revenue targets. Develop and deliver localised sales training and enablement assets to achieve this goal.
- Consistently analyse team performance and funnel / deal efficiency to optimise and improve the velocity and return at each stage.
- Maintain and grow the sales book of business, ensuring revenue realisation and profitability for new and existing clients.
- Engage with leading business decision-makers to connect the firm’s capabilities to their needs, and develop sound commercial deals to help them get the most from our products.
- Advocate on behalf of our merchants to ensure their needs are captured in our product roadmap.
- Implement regular sales operational checkpoints and meeting structures (including SKOs, weekly sales meetings, and regular checkpoints on team / individual performance).
- Build and deliver a culture of feedback and performance management across all areas of sales.
- Identify product training and GTM requirements for new product / feature deployment to help your team effectively sell the Zeller product suite.
- Ensure operational excellence by generating and regularly delivering sales unit performance reports and forecasts, including profitability, revenue generation, sales insights, KPIs, and growth levers.
- Collaborate with marketing, risk and compliance, support and account management teams to develop and improve cross-functional and operational architecture — including merchant onboarding, merchant support and product go-to-market initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on sales experience and at least 2+ years of experience leading a high-performing sales team of at minimum 5 people.
- Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, and performance managing team members at a variety of levels.
- A strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- You are success, growth, and outcome-oriented, with a strong desire to win.
- Someone who works collaboratively with people at all levels.
- Excellent written and succinct verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Experience engaging with and influencing customer stakeholders at all levels, and across all functions.
- Sound commercial acumen, including ability to create commercial proposals.
- Self-starter who can proactively identify and prioritise opportunities to focus on based upon business need.
- You’re resourceful and hands-on, ready to contribute by directly selling alongside your team in order to reach your shared KPIs.
- A positive attitude, desire for teamwork, and willingness to engage in tasks outside of your role’s core responsibilities to meet business needs in an agile scaleup environment.
Bonus points
- Experience working in B2B SaaS, fintech and/or payments.
- You have been part of a high-growth startup environment.
Like the rest of the team, you’ll benefit from
- An opportunity to shape and build the future of Zeller from the ground up in the UK
- A competitive salary package, including equity from an early stage;
- A balanced, progressive, and supportive work environment;
- Endless learning and development opportunities;
-Excellent parental leave and other leave entitlements;
-Being part of a fast-growing and ambitious scale-up.
