About the role
Aalto is the private real estate marketplace, where homeowners can sell with flexibility, control, and peace of mind, while buyers benefit from preferred access to an expanded inventory pool of top-quality homes.
We have achieved strong product market fit and are well on our way to creating a massive new category in America’s largest asset class, real estate. Now we need a performance-minded, “full stack” marketing lead to help us spread the word.
Our value propositions and core growth loops work well. Now it’s time to expand our set of hypotheses to touch on new channels and growth vehicles.
Your main focus will be owning the marketing playbook designed to complement sales and operations activity with the goal of quickly achieving marketplace liquidity in each of our new markets, while keeping growth strong in existing markets.
As our first dedicated marketing hire, you will be responsible for educating and transitioning buyers and sellers from the old way of thinking, in terms of the exposed public market (MLS, etc.), to the new and different world of the private market.
This is a greenfield opportunity. You should feel comfortable creating hypotheses and testing them with real budget. Experience across a range of digital and physical marketing mediums is preferred. Familiarity with residential real estate is helpful, but not required.
What you’ll do
- Set and reset our performance marketing strategy including rough forecasts and targets by channel
- Capture the attention of consumers and then deepen our lead as category owners of the private real estate marketplaceBe hands on as the lead decision maker and executor on all campaigns
- Lead the allocation of marketing capital to different performance marketing tests, essentially anything you can dream up (within reason...)
- Report directly to Aalto’s co-founder and Head of Product, as we believe that product and marketing should operate as one for as long as possible
- Leverage internal and external data to iterate and improve dailyCreate a marketing launch playbook that we can repeat hundreds of times across the countryBalance broad and wide awareness and reach with the requirements of a premium privacy-oriented brand (not easy)
- Balance both targeted, local ads with broader based marketing campaigns
Who you are
- 6+ years experience in developing and executing on user acquisition campaigns across all major channels
- The ideal candidate has experience marketing consumer lifestyle brands in a performance oriented way
- Experience managing and allocating medium sized advertising budgetsDeep expertise of all digital channels including email, SEM and Social
- Some experience with offline channels including out of home and direct mail
- Has been a part of 0 to 1 marketing teams, ideally as the first or second marketing hire at a technology company
